Speaking of ultra-long songs, Fantômas - Delirium Cordía is the clear winner, clocking in at 74:16.
I never thought it was that good, though.

I feel you're pain. I get that same bullshit. Hey, what are you gonna do? Stop listening to metal? Fuck that.
Yeah but Soas i'm not gothic at all...the only black i wear (another stereo-type) is a sweater made by fox, they call me goth because of the music i listen to not the way i dress.

But why do their opinions matter? I mean, they cant even stereotype right. I didnt mean to say you were or might be goth, but just the fact that...This stuff happens to a lot of us, and I just happened to have gone through the gothic stage for my example, and even though it could be shitty at times, it can also open the eyes of others who are willing, who are much worth your time and respect.
Just laugh at the rest. Fuck with them. Who cares! If they want to be stupid, feed 'em, it's your entertainment in the end.

They were both my "starting" bands, along with Arch Enemy.
Plus they are mega popular, so everyone knows them. So it's hard not to come across them if you're going into the direction of metal.

I'm skeptical. there's a lot of Yes, but a lot of No, as well. I pass judgment to Goatchrist or Batman.

Of course, they're tits, but the fact that they're popular makes everyone who might not even like them mention their names.

Ya, you know, the people who like don't listen to music, but want to fit into a group.
Like HIM. I bet almost no one who wears HIM merch actually has one of their albums.

Like one of my friends who wants to be a metalhead, but lacks the most important part of being one, he has to actually listen to metal and not just say he does

Oh course... but not as epic. Blind Guardian has something Avantasia doesn't.... Hansi :D.
The Mystic Prophecy of the Demon Knight is pretty epic too.... not as much as ATTWS and TSA though.

Never liked it too much though.
Yeah its not too good. But things like The Moor and To Bid You Farewell clock pretty highly, and the latter is amazing.
And you have Dream Theater who put our a few 20 minute long + songs.... A Change of Seasons, Octavarium, A Mind Beside Itself.... and then theres Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence.

Yeah, I found out about that a while ago. I remember when I thought >10 minute songs were really long and then thought about how crazy the track length for Dream Theater's 6DOIT was. However, I don't plan to try getting into Fantômas anytime soon.

And there's another 20+ minute song by Dream Theater to be on their new album. :D

I like Bongzilla, despite the whole, "WOW DUDES, I'M HIGH!" thing they have going on. It's still ultra-heavy.
I like your taste in metal, I can't let you in though, I'm not a horseman. Wait, but you're a shoe-in. Don't worry.

Wherever there's Borknagar, there's Vintersorg. Check out Vintersorg as well.

Yes, I listen to them and I'm sure many others here listen to them. Also, they've probably been mentioned plenty of times here, especially in gay jokes.
