None of you have to read this, but Im too happy not to ramble on about Heaven N Hell, so Im perfectly content to pretend someone is going to read this.
First of all; omfg amazing. I was long over due a concert.
The Wait
This was the most drunken line I've seen yet. Holy fuck. I dont think anybody was sober, it was almost frightening. When it came to actually being let in, everyone went in such a stampede that the guards around didnt have the man power to keep the barricades up. However, it was worth a wait, as my best friend decided to stand around since 9 am. He got the rail, and I stood behind with with some friends. Im use to getting up front, but never right in the middle.
Down
I really can't say anything amazing about this band actually. They weren't BAD, but nothing fantastic either. They got the crow rowdy though. It was pretty tight already, but as soon as the lead singer commander everyone to go fucking nuts and that'd they'd be pussies if they didnt, it got pretty intense. Some asshole beside me protecting his girlfriend kept elbowing me in the ribs as if I had some power to control the thousands of people pushing me so hard up against my friend that I couldnt touch the ground. So after getting fed up, I look to my friend Kat beside me, with a wicked smile, and started to laugh as I pushed 20 people the fuck off of and around me, and she quickly followed. So, naturally, I had one hand raised in a manowar style(this might have been due to me just singing manowar in my head at the time, but whatever), while the other leaned off the back of my friend, and forced my back against everyone else. he guy being the oh-so-dear knight looked over and kinda smiled/laughed considering only moments before how pissed he was with me and now I was doing a better job than him keeping everyone off his girl.
But I seriously hate that shit. The "I protect my girlfriend" guys are the shittiest to be around. haha but towards the end, some older guy turned to me and Kat and was like " man, I wish my wife was as tough as you two, or i'd bring her". Gave me a good chuckle.
Iunno the background with Down at all, but apparently there is a thing wtih the confederate flag...Two Halifax guys from the line had that flag and was telling us they'd get the singer to wear it as a cape, and they showed us, since the singer eventually did notice and ask for it, and naturally, wore it. So a lot of whispering of redneck happened. Iunno if it's just a background thing, an ironic thing, or just plain redneck shit going on, but it threw a lot of people off guard since the only thing that flag means to anyone anymore is racism.
But enough about them
Megadeth

Being 2 arms length away from Mustaine..is indescribable. I nearly shat myself, I SWEAR HE LOOKED AT ME D:. Chances are on my side anyways. He started the set with Sleep walker, which makes me glad I listened to it a few good times before this show, so I could shout along. I still get over how close I was so his glorious manliness *sigh*. His shredding is even more badass that close. Dear lord. Most of the songs I remember, was that, Symphony of Destruction, Hanger 18, She wolf, Holy wars, Peace sells....and I cant remember the few im missing. I think one was off the new album so im not sure what it was called.
Unfortunately though, body surfers fucked me over in my place in the crowd, so I shimmied beside the pit on the side-ish. But all the more room to mosh and headbang!
I remember when She Wolf came on, I turned to my friend Galle to scream the name, as some guy was just screaming She Wolf at the same exact time, so we both stopped, looked at each other, put on some wicked smiles and just yelled SHHHHHEEE WOOLLLF at each other and ran into the pit.
It was so amazing to get all sweaty, and shoved, and hurt, and to headbang and just let the fuck loose again. Nothing is better than just laughing and moshing and argh....This band DELIVERS. So much, that my friend Galle that came to the side with me, never bothered with Megadeth, but half way through he was like "yaa man...I dig them"
"so now you know why I obsessed?"
"totally"
He wants me to send him some songs too. It makes me so happy when people do that. :D
Then we sealed it by starting a pit around us, haha.
The best was to see the crowd trying to catch the picks, but the front guys fell on the ground trying to go so far back to get them, and it had a domino effect for half way through the ground. We all had a good laugh over it and picked each other up.
Sabbath/Dio
I can't say Im the most loyalist of fan, as I only know their earliest work with Ozzy when they were all young. So it sucked not knowing any of the lyrics, but oh man, it was so great that...i justed wanted to be high and close my eyes and be like yeeeeeeee.
I expected to laugh when Dio came on, but...He was so epic that it would be ridiculous to laugh at such talent! HOLY SHIT. I love Ozzy, he's a good front man, and has good shit going on with Zakk..But dio was born for this band. He was just so majestic, and flowed with the perfect aura. So fucking lively for a lil ol' guy. He delivered way more than I could ever expect....But the real reason I came to see them was the one and only; Tony, the man himself.
I cannot describe what an honor it is to be in this mans presence. Every time he stepped up on stage, I was mesmerized. He play guitar as if God himself put him on this earth to do this and only this. It was like breathing or walking for him. He had such a calm handle of his riffs, and even the way he just stood there. I cant even put this into words of how talented and amazing, and perfect, and bewildering he is. Just the way he stood there, calm, but with confidence! It was almost emotional to be only a few metres away from him. Even thinking about it, I can't help but smile.
Mmmm sorry for just ranting on, but I had such a great time. I want to go back in time and do it all over again, but this time hurt more people, including myself. :D
