I'm a big fan of them....I crowned Progenies of the Great Apocalypse as the best metalsong in my library (and that's a really big one!), but Shagrath doesn't sound that bad, does he?
The bassplayer has good clean vocals, true, only live on stage he sometimes misses a few notes with an afwul sounds as a result...but the performance...bloodgargling, spitting, insane corpsepaint and headbanging...they're awesome!
It's said though, that Nicholas Barker left...the current drummer can't match him, Nick rules!

I only like gurgling if the music is good. Devourment isn't very good to me anymore because the guitars are pretty easy - even if it sounds good. Same with Suffocation. The vocalists are so gurgtastic.

Decrepit Birth however, don't gurgle but still grunt with incrediblly low vocals. I can make out what he is saying though. Their music sounds so fuckin' technical to on their new demo. Necrophagist is good like that too.

for me i like my vocals harsh i do enjoy the black metal part scream part roar for example peste noire i fucking love. however good lyrics are nice but i dont like a band/song to vocally focused for me focus has to be on drums and guitars. in terms of band shirts i have: In Flames, Burzum, Darkthrone, Dragonforce and Beherit

I enjoy all kinds of extreme vocals, high screeches, thrashy barking, almost all kind of growls. I only dislike vocals which are deeper than your average toilet sink.

PS: I own a Behemoth (Zos Kia Kultus) and a Hypocrisy (Into the Abyss) shirt.

I like any kind of vocals...as long if it adds up to the style of the band...no death metal grunting with Blind Guardian or something like that...it can work out sometimes (I tried to grunt Fly) but not all the time...
