dude, you're nice, really really nice, but you can't call Slayer death metal. That's not a matter of opinion, that's a matter of fact. They're thrash metal. Everyone knows they're thrash metal. Slayer themselves know they're thrash metal. Their genre is called... thrash metal.

I'm not speaking for everyone. I'm speaking for the values that this club holds.

I just said they werre thrash, but to me, they're thrash and death. Just because of the way they are, their lyrics, their hardcoreness... they may be a thrash band, but they do hold some death in them, or it might just be me... wait, sorry, i kinda got genre mixed with opinion.

I thought of death as just dark shit for a second rather than style... damn that was a dumb move. And NEV, like I said, i respect those values/opinions... you're just being very defencive
not even getting mad at the issue anymore just the fact that i said you were speaking for everyone's opinions, which you were.

I understand goatchrist's thread rules now, and i already said I was going to leave... i just wanted us to drop this argument so I can... if you want someone to express the values of
the thread, get goat christ to do it, after all he made the thread... As for you and I, I already
said I was leaving.

It's pointless to debate about such a subject, otherwise it'll just turn into chaos, now can we
please leave this fued to rest?

It can't be, cause its not in the United States is it? Its Canada, its a country on its own. Like the Repubic of Ireland. Its touching the United Kingdom, but its not part of it.

The United States is not North America. North America is a continent, not a country.

Both Canada and The US are part of North America. :-)

Yeah whats with all the covers of good music this metal-core group called Between the buried and me just put out a covers cd although not a bad band in my opinion it was terrible they tried doing an exact copys of the songs without putting there own spin on it although KSE versions of Holy diver just sucks.

So you believe we should accept Nu-Metal, Alt-Metal, Metalcore, Mallcore as valid Metal acts worthy of the Metal Hell?

Not mallcore, but since it's named Metal Hell shouldnt it be for metal and all those are subgenres of metal (except mallcore).
I really think you guys should be discussing metal not just arguing about what the best subgenre of metal is.

Actually, mallcore is not a genre, it's just a mockery. Nu-Metal, "Rap"-Metal, etc. is NOT metal. It was just give the wrong name by the media. It's nothing more than heavy rock, without any metal characteristics.

Response to Metal Hell 2006-07-25 08:11:55

I am bored with all these new stupid names for a fucking type of music that everyone plays witht the same damn instruments. Seriously just because you feel like a emo kid and needs to wear black make-up all the time doesnt mean you need your own damn genre.

yes I do listen once in a while to deathmetal, but however it has been lately overused repeaditly.

I think deathmetal, blackmetal, all of these genres where the singers masks his voice to sound like a demon is gonna be done with soon because bands are just being made to get money.

I really hope that happens. Just cause it'll be hilarious ten years after when you'll get Rap-Black Metal and Nu-Death.

When you put metal hell without describing what kind of metal you're
talking about, you should expect people like me coming in here listing
those kind of bands, why? Because metal describes any kind of metal...
so maybe instead you should've put,"only bands from the late 80s to
early 90s, excluding nu-metal."

not true at all. we talk about death metal. now tell me young man was death metal around in the 70's and 80's no it wasnt!!!!!!! so go joing the nu Metal / Metalcore crew becuase those clubs are just right for you. haha that rhymed. and stay in school you young person thinge thats 15.

WTF? vanhalen!? Vanhalen were around AFTER metal had already started, black sabbath were playing metal before it ever even became popular in the states, and in the 60s... trust me, no one was listening to that stuff, it was all the beetles and shit.

Hav'nt seen that yet but I watched this lame-ass show on vh1 called Heavy the story of metal all it was was maiden then sabbath then lame-ass hair metal seriously is that all vh1 awknoledges is hair metal.

But enough rants about vh1 I heard that there was a funny mayhem interview in that movie.
