If you class those bands as not true metal, you need to learn the history of metal.
Metal started in the late 60s to early 70s... with bands like kiss, black sabbath,
led zepplin, and judas priest. In the 80s it started to become tons of glam bands.

Every glam band(people with poofed up hair and too many power ballads), was copying
each other, people got sick of it... kids wanted just music, no glam... anthrax, metallica,
megadeth and a few others pretty much put an end to the glam scene.

Then, in the 90s, there came nu-metal, for all the angry fed up kids...
No matter what kind of metal you like, its all metal, you cant say its
not true metal, because every type of metal originated from the same
source.

in fact, there are so many types of metal i cant even name them all...
but just cause you dislike a band does not make them non-metal.

When you put metal hell without describing what kind of metal you're
talking about, you should expect people like me coming in here listing
those kind of bands, why? Because metal describes any kind of metal...

Well, everything has been inspired by something... and i like all kinds of music, i dont see it as watered down, also, slipknot are never on the radio, radio stations wont play them cause they're too hardcore and 2. curse alot and sing about questionable things.

3. If you just like the original metal artists then just say so, but slayer are not in that class.
Slayer are death metal, metallica are thrasher(or used to be, until the black album, then they became more hard rock), and grunge did put an end to glam, but metallica and those bands did help to sway people's interest away from the glam scene.

I always see things as this,"if you don't know shit, don't try proving it." I don't just go into arguments unarmed spewing random bullshit like i know everything, like the majority.

But in an argument such as this, you can't really prove much seeing as it comes down to opinion, but still, for him to say that nu-metal is not true metal, i think that's a lil naive.

Anything that has the name metal in it, is esentially metal, but if he just wants undifferent
metal, just plain metal, he won't find it in bands like metallica and slayer, slayer: DEATH metal, not METAL. Metallica: Thrash metal, not METAL. if he wants metal by itself, he's
out of luck because almost no band now is just plain METAL.

Therefore he can't just say nu-metal isnt true metal, still, he has a right to make a thread
where its only a certain kind of metal, but i think he should've pointed that out in his first
post before people like me come in and start talking about nu-metal and other such things.

Still, i like all kinds of metal and respect his opinion. Why? Because, unlike most other

OK, while metal is not just a straight path, it is based simply on what i said before,
the history of it... sure, you cant get into the full history, that would take ages to
describe how each type of metal originated, but since there are so many types
of metal, you cant just say that one type isnt metal.

Also, slayer are death metal, maybe not like any bands nowadays how death metal sounds,
but just listen to their style, their lyrics, they sound a bit like thrash meats death, in a way...
but dont blame me if i dont go onto every site looking for what each and every band is categorized as.
