I'm actually a bit new to the metal music and everything (just to the people who didn't notice yet) and I was wondering if someone could give me some major intel 'bout the most important stuff. Phrases like grindcore and all other things that end with -core are a bit alien to me.

The first band I've ever listened and liked and which I believed was metal was Linkin Park. I liked the music and stuff but it didn't took long for me to realize that they were Rock. Now since I've discovered the use of metal-archives.com things have been going a little bit easier for me, but please a little help for a fellow metalhead would be awesome.

Well if you do you've already got the #1 member 'cause I listen to progressive (rock) a lot, not that much as I listen to metal but I still like it.
