Long story short, Knoppix isn't very Java Friendly and I don't have much else for an alternative right now.
Try Netbeans dude. Great IDE. Free too.
What exactly are you having trouble with at the moment?
Nicely said, Ghoul.
Well, the troublemakers seem to be gone, so let's keep on talking about interesting things for us all.
Has anyone heard Satyricon's "Now, Diabolical" yet? I heard very mixed opinions about it, some even say it's close to Darkthrone's latest offering.
Well, my list for albums to purchase has grown, and here it is: Iron Maiden- Iron Maiden, Iron Maiden - Brave New World, Cannibal Corpse - Tomb of The Mutilated, Cannibal Corpse- KILL, Dark Tranquility - Character, Hypocrisy -The Arrival, Hypocrisy - Virus, Cryptopsy - None So Vile, Cryptopsy - Blasphemy Made Flesh, Cryptopsy - Whisper Supremecy, Gorgasm - Bleeding Profously, Gorgasm - Stabwound Intercoarse, In Flames - Whoracle, In Flames - The Jester Race, In Flames - Colony, Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armegeddon, Dimmu Borgir - Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, and Hypocrisy - Penetralia.

I've heard it was a more acceptable version of Volcano. Satyricon does black n' roll nowadays, which I don't like. Likewise, I really don't like Darkthrone's latest 2 CD's. They make me cringe. Hate Them was OK, and Plaguewielder and Ravishing Grimness were a blessed respite from the monotony of their previous work, to which Under A Funeral Moon was the only memorable work.
About Satyricon, though, if you didn't like Volcano or Rebel Extravaganza, you won't like Now, Diabolical. Besides that, it's false advertising. The CD sounds nothing like it looks to sound like.
Ey! Pantera is my favorite metal band, mostly because of Dime's great playing, damn it sucks to have lost him!
So... I'll join the crew.

Pantera is acceptable but you must list some more of your favorite metal bands.
Although judging by the ones in your profile I'd say you're in.

Pantera is already mentioned.
Children of Bodom, Mastodon
Dimmu Borgir, Exodus
Ozzy Osbourne (not a band but shit), Black Sabbath
Black Label Society, Slayer
Iced Earth, Iron Maiden
Metallica, Sepultura
Megadeth, Satyricon
Manowar
That about covers it...

So I guess I won't like it too much. I think that Volcano is borderline acceptable, my favourite album by them is Dark Medieval Times. Yeah, I heard about the cover being nothing like the music.

I heard that Matt Barlow went out of the band because of some 9/11 work, is that actually true?
And Barlow was sort of the voice of Iced Earth, dark and gruffy, while Owens is high-pitched. It's a big difference.
Owens doesn't have the hair but he is a great vocalist, I think he's good enough for the band, even though I miss Matt Barlow.

Am I one of the so called troublemakers? Cause I know my post started off the whole Nu-Metal debate thing but I never really got vicious or insulted anyone or anything. And I wasn't involved the whole 'Blar blar, Slipknot, blar blar'. So is it cool that I'm still in?

Dream Theater are an iffy one. I like them, but I can see why people wouldn't. However, they don't suck. They are all incredibly good musicians, and spent years in musical academies.
Yeah. The trash can along with all the other nu-metal crap bands. You people have never heard of Vio-lence, have you?Again with the opinions.
I can't believe that a metal fan would seriously try to prove that Slipknot don't suck. Go listen to your shitty music kid.
I'd rather not. There are enough idiots who listen to metal to begin with.So instead of letting this "idiocy" continue, do something about it.
Maybe I don't feel like dealing with idiots. There are a few exceptions, but I hate people in general. I can't tolerate idiocy, therefore I let the idiots revel in their own ignorance.
There you go again, assuming you know something about me which you don't. I listen to maybe 4 or 5 goregrind bands and that's about it. In fact, I think the majority of the genre is boring. Then tell me something about you so I will be correct.
And again, I used goregrind entirely randomly. Get over it.
I already did before. I don't even listen to goregrind. I listen to thrash and nwobhm with a bit of death and black metal.
I didn't say that either. Grindcore is as legitimate as any other type of music.Techincally no it's not.
Music (according to google) is "The organization of sounds with some degree of rhythm, melody, and harmony."
Grindcore has rhythm, lots of it. Rarely some melody, and generally no harmony whatsoever. Technically it's almost not even music at all...
your idea of music is from a dictionary definition? Wow...
You don't seem to understand that there's a difference between having a personal preference and knowing when music sucks."knowing when music sucks" is ENTIRELY the opinion of the listener.
Grindcore, while not my cup of tea, still has some musical merit and quality to it. Machine Head and Slipknot on the other hand, just plain suck.Again. OPINION.
SLIPKNOT FUCKING SUCK! HOLY SHIT! YOU'RE TRYING TO DEFEND SLIPKNOT ON A METAL BOARD!
I guess this is another problem stemming from the first misunderstanding. I have no problem with pop music. I have a problem with bad music.Fine, but just because you think it's bad doesn't mean it is. If you want to play that game, show me some documented proof that you are competent to make such a decision for everyone else.
You're right. The fact that it's bad means it's bad. SLIPKNOT. FUCKING. SUCK. End of discussion.
Yes, you definitely did. Have you ever heard of a strawman argument? It's where you take someone else's argument, turn it into an easily defeatable bastardization of its original form, and present that as their argument. It doesn't work on someone with more than half a brain.I believe I left every quote in tact, did I not?
You're a retard. You were changing my argument through your words.
Again, there's a difference between opinions and facts. I could say that the Earth is flat. It might be my opinion, but it's just plain wrong, no two ways about it.Yes. There is documented scientific evidence to conclude that.
No kidding? There's plenty of evidence to prove that Slipknot and Machine Head suck too. Go check on Metal-Archives and see how many positive Machine Head reviews you find.
Saying that Machine Head and Slipknot are metal is just wrong.I don't care if Machine Head and Slipknot or metal or not (although the Metal-Archives are usually a pretty good reference point). I also don't care how good or shitty you, me, or anyone else thinks they are. If they have a fanbase, they must have some musical merit, no matter how large or small.
Every fucking band in the history of anything has a fanbase, "no matter how large or small". That doesn't mean they're any good.
Sorry kiddo, but you're wrong. I've had more challenging arguments with my 13 year old brother.Does he argue like you too? Entirely opinion based?
That's what you call a loaded question, and I refuse to answer it. It holds no logical merit whatsoever.

And best of all, the album is free (HTTP or Torrent)

Stoneboy, I can't stand Owens in Iced Earth. Sure, he's very good in the technical department, but he just sucks in Iced Earth. He also sucked in Judas Priest, at least in my opinion.

Matt Barlow is a lot better than Owens but it could be worse... Iced Earth could've had some really Johnny Rottenish guy... That would suck!

Even as a huge Priest fan, I have to say I kinda agree with you...
I don't really blame the guy for it though, I mean he was replacing one of the greatest metal singers of all time, and that's some pretty big boots to fill. At least Halford's back now though.
I heard that they're working on a concept album at the moment, apparently it's going to be about the life of nostradamus and it'll be performed as a huge stage show/musical as well.
Which should be interesting to say the least.
im listening to a little motorhead i havent listened to them in a while so i figured why the hell not. their pritty good.

You're right. And they completely changed their sound with Owens. I liked Angel of Retribution quite a lot again, though. Rob's the only singer for Priest.

Yeah, it does sound interesting, I hope Rob's vocal chords can still manage an opus like that :)
