Hey there! I'm doing good, and you? It seems like the old members all feel like dropping by recently. It's good to see some familiar faces in here. Newgrounds as a whole, and the Metal Hell isn't as active as it used to be. But I'm still learning new stuff, like the fact that there is a new Enslaved album (thanks to you). I'm not very good with keeping up with the newer material and the upcoming material, so having a few different sources to keep me informed is good.

Welcome back!

I just popped in to see how everyone was doing, I'll keep in contact every so often when I have time. I just been busy with life and looking for a new job, hope everything's good with everyone

That's some great news! I'm looking forward to this :)

Oh, and Ulver shared some information on their Facebook page about Garm working on the production of the debut album of an American black metal band that is in fact a one-woman-band named Myrkur. I've listened to the first single of the album, and I thought it was pretty good so I decided to share this with you. The sound from the first released single is amazing. I'm very interested by the 2nd wave black metal approach of this one-woman-band and the way she decided to incorporate folk elements to her music.

Heard of Gamma Ray.
Other German bands.
Mania
Abraxas (same singer as above)
Helloween
I know more. But for some reason I'm drawing a blank at the moment....

You give the other two songs a listen? Reminds me of a mix between "old school" Speed Metal with early Bruce Dickinson-era Maiden vocals.

Liked the music. Though I haven't listened to much Black Metal in awhile so those kinds of vocals hit my ear all weird nowadays.

Speaking of Black Metal. Not German but I kinda like this\/ Melodic Black Metal thats lyrically based on Star Wars
Hoth - Infinite Darkness
They also did a cover of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

Dunno the first one. Centurion-Ryan was big into Axel Rudi Pell. I only listened to Gamma Ray a bit years ago. ElGhoulio was more of a fan. Kai Hansen of Helloween founded them. My favorite Helloween stuff is from the self titled and Walls of Jericho, which happens to be from when he was still doing the vocals.

Also, as far as I know, neither the album art or track listing has been announced. Though they HAVE been playing new songs live for the better part of the year. They've been playing some other new songs. But I can't seem to find them on youtube at the moment.

If you like Dimmu, you might like stuff like Illnath, Abigail Williams and Carach Angren. These are other very good Symphonic black metal acts that you might enjoy!

If you're looking for more aggressive and abrasive stuff than Emperor, Immortal, Ihsahn, Carpathian Forest, Dark Funeral, Balrog, Forgotten Woods, Taake, Peste Noire and Monarque, are very good bands. Dimmu Borgir is associated with Symphonic black metal and have been drifting into more gothic metal/rock fields lately, but these bands I just listed here are truer to the black metal roots and are far more abrasive, heavy and unforgiving. I love every single one of these bands :)

The guitarist from English Dogs recently started posting videos on YouTube. First thing I saw was him showing the guitar track for my favorite of their songs.

English Dogs - Survival of the Fittest

Anyone listen to English Dogs? Either version of the band (they splintered into two separate bands).

Never have been a huge fan of IWRESTLEDABEARONCE, but their new album is so good I streamed it a bunch then bought the CD, which I don't often do anymore. There's a bit of singing, but not much (thankfully). They do some pretty cool stuff on this album. I'm not the best at giving reviews, so all I can say is that it's heavy as fuck and it's good.
