Today was a good day.
Yeah I really like that band. I've listened to their albums many times. You might like After the Burial too.
Not sure if any of you are into podcasts, but goddamn this is my absolute favorite:

This is the lead singer of Hatebreed. He interviews tons of metal people, wrestlers, etc. The stories and shit are great. Plus they talk a lot about the music business. It's fascinating stuff.
Good new and bad news.
Good news.
Bruce Dickinson is now officially cancer free.
Bad news.
Terry Jones. Singer for the band Pagan Altar died this morning as a result of cancer....

Fuck, I was gonna post this.
I was listening to Pagan Altars' discography a few nights ago, and now Terry has gone...
Oh hey, never saw this since I hardly ever went to this section.
I like all kinds of music provided they're not pop or country, or dubstep; but the majority of what I listen to is relevant to metal, or industrial (or both.)
That said, amongst my favorite bands are: The Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Anthrax, Faith No More, System of a Down, Marilyn Manson, etc.
I'm typically more fond of 90s alternative/grunge and punk/hardcore than metal, as I lean more toward stuff like Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, early Suicidal Tendencies/DRI, At the Drive-In, Refused, Envy, etc. But considering the first two bands I ever really cared about were Iron Maiden and System of a Down; my tastes are certainly rooted in metal.

Hey there! There is some pretty good music in that list. With bands like Faith No More and Anthrax, you'll fit right in. We don't really discuss much nu-metal and metalcore, but I know that a lot of the guys of the Metal Hell like The Dillinger Escape Plan and Nine Inch Nails. Welcome in the Metal Hell :)

If you like grunge, hardcore punk, etc., there is a lot of metal stuff that is close to these genres that you might like. I could recommend some stuff if you're interested :)
New Cattle Decapitation track. It's pretty good.
Also, any Coal Chambers fans here? They released a couple new tracks off their upcoming album. Man that brings me back to my college days!

I used to be into a few Coal Chamber songs as a teen like Loco, Big Truck and Something Told Me. I'll still go back to the nu-rock type stuff (for lack of a better term) on YouTube now and then. I think it was actually a couple weeks ago I was listening to a little Coal Chamber among some others.
I wish drama at home tied me back less. I missed MDF again this year. Not too long from now, it's about to wrap up. I did hear that Anaal Nathrakh finished up their set a few hours ago...I'm just pissing time away listening to them again now. It would have also been good to see many old faces like Arcturus, Aeturnus, Origin and Tsjuder, plus the many others that I've heard but haven't seen. I'd say "maybe next year" but I'll figure it out right then and there. For now I'll just continue talking to friends that did go and will be returning tomorrow.

Welcome! Anything metal on your mind, go ahead and talk about it! WE'RE DYYYIIING. As for Helloween, my favorite has always been the Walls of Jericho plus the self titled album (CD version has them together in one). I love Extreme Aggression by Kreator. Got the title track on my phone.

I still listen to Korn, Deftones and SOAD, too.

The line-up looked great, yes. But the tickets price is more than I can afford. Not to mention that I would have had to do the road trip and pay for the hotel. Arcturus, Origin, Funebrarum, Blood Red Throne, Demilich and Anaal Nathrakh are all bands that I would have absolutely loved to see. Not to mention that Demilich probably won't be around for much more longer either. I might have missed a good opportunity to ever seem them, but again... I didn't have the money for the tickets and the trip.

I have a hard time with Helloween's goofy stuff. I don't know if they are doing it on purpose or not, but I don't think they are doing it well. But I like their more epic stuff. The Keepers albums are great. And I also enjoy some of their most recent stuff, even though I have preference for Kiske's vocals.
Hows everyone doing? I haven't forgotten about you guys, but I really haven't had time to come here anymore. I been listening to the new Enslaved album its absolute tits!

Hey there! I'm doing good, and you? It seems like the old members all feel like dropping by recently. It's good to see some familiar faces in here. Newgrounds as a whole, and the Metal Hell isn't as active as it used to be. But I'm still learning new stuff, like the fact that there is a new Enslaved album (thanks to you). I'm not very good with keeping up with the newer material and the upcoming material, so having a few different sources to keep me informed is good.
Welcome back!
Teaser for the new Ghost album.
The quality is garbage but you get the gist of whats going on.
what are some good concerts you guys been to see?
as much as i enjoy metal music, I haven't been to a concert yet.

Man. The years almost half over and I haven't been to ONE concert so far. I went to I wanna say 5 last year.
Ghost/King Dude, Red Fang/American Sharks/Big Business, Opeth/Red Fang/In Flames, Amon Amarth/Sabaton/Skeletonwitch, and Alice Cooper/Motley Crue.
I was SUPPOSED to see Electric Wizard/Satan's Satyrs and Pallbearer/Converge(?)/At The Gates the day before. But plans fell through for both of those. Now I have a small possibility of seeing High On Fire and Pallbearer later this year. But even then it might not happen.

You mean recently or throughtout our lives?
The only metal show I've seen in the last few months was the Benighted show in Montreal, and it was killer! Benighted are a great death metal/grindcore act from France, and they delivered.
Otherwise I haven't been to a metal show since sometime in spring of 2014 to see Agalloch for the third time. And Agalloch is always amazing. They are one of the greatest acts live, and they always have a great setlist, aswell as great opening bands to start things off.

Yeah, recently!

Back when Limewire was still a thing I had grabbed a few songs by them, one of which was Fully Alive. Years later I decided to get their debut and only decent album. I was so fucking confused when I found that the version of Fully Alive was totally different- having way too much flanger on the guitars in the intro- missing a bit before the chorus- and soundong way more accessible and less raw. I was disappointed and kinda pissed because I had thought I bought some remastered album.
Nah, turns out my version from Limewire was the 'demo' version on their debut EP. Anyway, that being said, I really recommend that EP if you haven't heard it. It has most of the best songs on the album, but in a much more raw form (they're labeled as demos, but they sound way better than a typical demo. Most of them are better than the final product.) If it only had All Around Me I'd probably never listen to the studio album again.
System of a Down
Always one of my favorites
Deftones
Possibly my favorite
New Gorgoroth song. Not a bad way to start my morning. Infernus still has it in him.

Anyone ever hear of the band Starkweather from Philly? Apparently they've been around since the 90s. The song Armed Memory came on a station I was listening to last night and I really liked it. I'm going to go through and check out their other stuff.

That's not too bad. I don't know why people are bitching about the production - it sounds fine to me.
I think after I finish listening to Starkweather, I'm going to get into some more black metal today. I haven't listened to much of it.
