Yeah well, their a band from India. It doesn't help them get much attention, I suppose. It's not a big market like Japan, Brazil, North America or Europe.
I really can't think of other Indian metal bands. Not off the top of my head, anyway.

Folk-black-metal from Bahrain. It's like Orphaned Land but better and mixed with Nile.
Eyehategod are going to be releasing their first album in 13 years. It's set to come out in late May.
There is a new song that is currently out off the new album titled Agitation! Propaganda! you can listen to it here
Got 5 CDs from my sister for my Birthday (which was on Monday).
I got:
Melvins - Hostile Ambient Takeover
Blind Guardian - Another Stranger Me
The Atomic Bitchwax - Spit Blood
Black Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy
Black Sabbath - Mob Rules
i'm in the process of getting every Sabbath album on CD and vinyl otherwise i wouldn't want Mob Rules because i'm not a big fan of it.
Hey guys. Been meaning to share this for a while. This is my friend's band, some melodic death metal that I think you'd all enjoy. What do you think?
My sister got me a copy of Them by King Diamond today.
It was either: that, Don't Break The Oath, or Return of the Vampire.
So Angela Gossow has now departed from Arch Enemy, and the replacing vocalist they chose is no one else then Alissa White-Gluz, the pretentious and haughty vocalist from the Quebec metalcore band The Agonist.
I didn't have much respect for this woman who goes around metal shows (mostly core stuff and melodic death stuff, though) to show herself with her boyfriend from Despised Icon, and who's also quite the bitch to her fans. But now, she also dropped the band that made it possible for her to ever get known, for the fame maybe... or for the raise... I don't know. I don't care.
I haven't checked the single they released with her to get the pulse from their fans, but I hear that it's pretty much just more of the same, and that's coming from people who seem to believe that Arch Enemy is still a good band. I'll give it a listen sometime soon... But I'm not pleased with their decision to recruit her. Not only because she's a poser with a shitty attitude, but because it just further proves that Arch Enemy is all about the looks, and not in anyway interested by the content of their "art". What a shame...

As influential as Eyehategod has been to so many sludge bands, I should be more familiar. I seem to be more acquainted with a number of bands on the For the Sick tribute album.

That album rocks.
In the process of trying to ear out the solo for this Obsessed song. I have the rest of the song down for the most part. But thats because I was looking up tabs for it.

Yes it does.
Dunno if this is legit or not but apparently David Brockie "a.k.a Oderus Urungus" from the band Gwar has died.
If it IS true I really don't know what they're going to do. He was the last original member who was still in the band. And on top of that he was their vocalist. And it's pretty hard to replace a vocalist.
Then again April Fools IS sorta close. So who knows whats going on there. All I know is that Gwar's management is going to issue a statement regarding it later today.

I don't even remember.

Yeah, it's legit. It's pretty sad, I loved his inane rants.

Kinda shocking news, but I'm not gonna lie, I just lost a lot of respect for Arch Enemy after hearing that. Not as much because she's a bitch, but you'd be lying if you told me it was coincidence that their new vocalist just happened to be female. They clearly don't want to lose any popularity. I'm not afraid to admit I've been an Arch Enemy fan pretty much since I've ever gotten into metal and I still am, but I think after this it's gonna be hard to listen to them. Fuck.
Michael Amott is such a good guitarist too :C

Well then shit. I don't know what to say now :/
Guess he decided to chase Fred Phelps into hell then.....
Its sadder then when that dude from Slipknot died. What was his name? Oh, yea, that's right, who cares?
But Gwar was funny. Gwar was entertaining. Gwar didn't take themselves seriously. They also knew how to play instruments.
I hope they continue, but without the lead singer, might not be the same...

A part of their fanbase is indeed built upon Angela Gossow's "strong female growler" style. Another part of their fanbase liked them because "Damn she hawt! I'd do her!"
So I'm not surprised that they'd chose this doll to replace Gossow, even though they aren't really similar in anyway other then the fact that they are both attractive female growlers. Gossow liked what she did, and it showed. While Anitta is a kind of goth fashionista seeking fame.
I like Arch Enemy's first few albums until Rise Of The Tyrant. I think they were pretty good for sure, and I've been a fan throughout my high school years. I lost interest after 2007 (which is pretty much 7 years ago. Damn I'm getting old!)
Michael Amott is such a good guitarist too :C
True!

Joey Jordison is a good drummer.

Apparently, he was the last original member in the band. I mean, if Robert Fripp died, they definitely shouldn't be called King Crimson anymore...Actually, I hardly recognize King Crimson's lineup now.
Hey Guys wanted to share a band i found called Bodyfarm Here's one song from them. Hope you guys enjoy them
Some interesting bands I've found within the past day.
Instrumental Sludge Doom with 2 bassists and a drummer
https://kingdead.bandcamp.com
Pretty good Instrumental Doom mixed with Hardcore Punk and Stoner Rock
http://eatthewitch.bandcamp.com/
And a band I listen to have released their debut album.
I'd suggest listening if you're a fan of Stoner/Doom Metal that has occult themes. I just got done adding that particular album to Metal Archives and didn't realize I typed "Vallet" instead of "Valley" until after I clicked the button to add it.

He was. So as much as I love Gwar I really hope they don't continue without him. It just wouldn't be the same. I mean I could see if they had a tour lined up and they had an obligation to finish it and they got guest vocalists come in and sing for them til they got it over and then called it quits after that. But if thats not the case I really wouldn't want to see it happening.

I've been kind of obsessed with them lately, very aggressive and distinct sound.

I've heard quite a few good things about them. I might have to look beyong that hardcoreness and give them a chance.
Got copies of: Opus Eponymous, Infestissumam, and If You Have Ghost today. I'm trying to myself more acquainted with Ghost's second album before I go to see them because I honestly don't remember like 70% of the album. And I ended up buying the other two because FYE had all 3 and I didn't have any physical copies of Ghost stuff.

It's different, the feeling I get from them is that they play the original metalcore(mathcore to be precise) as if it never got trendy. The hardcoreness in them hits you like the hardcore that influences lots of metal bands like Mastodon, I find their sound to be very pure, fresh and original, and it's quite technical. As I've said they're very distinct in my opinion, specially considering how long they've been around. Maybe you won't find anything special about the vocals, but I think Jacob Bannon is amazing, very harsh, aggressive and emotional, in a lot of songs his voices is black metal-esque, and I like how he said in a small documentary "I'm 37 years old, and I still yell for a living" or something like that.
I've also heard they're excelent alive, again, the vocalist said something as "playing a concert for me has always been like play hard, or go home, with the true hardcore mentality", and still he seems to be very humble about his activity.
Some of my favorite songs (and the albums they're in are my favorite as well):
The Saddest Day
Heaven in Her Arms

If anyone likes Melodic Death Metal, here's a band called Obtenebris. They're a Canadian Death Metal band. Here's one of their songs They made one Full length Album. Pretty awesome. Give these guys a look
Mastodon already have a name for their new album: "Once More Around the Sun". I am really looking forward to it, they seem to be in a creative rush these years.
