What about Blood? Blood is pretty good.
Hey guys! I'm back! Quebec has been hit by and heavy storm friday afternoon and with all the broken and uprooten trees, we've been out of electricity for 36 hours straight. Everything seems to be just fine now, so I'm back online :) How is everybody doing?

I'm happy I made the difference :P
If Im not mistaken you guys were saying they had a new album out? If so, whats it called and is it good?
In Somniphobia is their most recent.

Pretty much all they did is amazing, but Scorn Defeat is their most black metal focused album and it's one of my all time favorites of the genre. I would also highly recommand Hangman's Hymn and Scenes From Hell. But like Sense said, there isn't much that isn't worth it by them. The only album I like less is Hail Horror Hail.

I love my wife. She's the kind of girl that prefers Charles Dominici (the singer on Dream Theater's When Dream and Day Unite) over James LaBrie (the singer on everything else), calling LaBrie "a whiny girl". Always marching to the beat of the different drummer. I love her.

James LaBrie has worked with some of the most awesome musicians of prog metal, to release magnificent pieces of art like Images & Words. Calling LaBrie a whiny girl is stupid. I might not really like the guy as an individual, and I can also say that he might not be the best artis in DT, but he is, or at least was a very capable vocalist, and he performed perfectly on some of the most memorable progressive metal tracks to ever be recorded.
Whiny girl... lol...
Anyway... what do you guys think of thisthis? Alex Webster in a new band with Keith Merrow, Alex Rudinger and Jeff Loomis.

Oh God, I'm so looking forward to that, I love Keith Merrow, he's an amazing composer.

I'm very happy to see him in a band two. His solo work is interesting but I feel that he could really make something happen working with a band. Plus, Alex Webster is one of my favorite death metal musicians, and one of my favorite bassists. I'm happy to see him work on another project :)

And Jeff Loomis is one of the best shredders around, one of the few that can shred without being a dick about it.
Talking about shred, just kidding, if you guys want check out my new guitar video.

She means he sounds like a whiny girl. His technique is outstanding, but I actually agree with her; Dominici's delivery was more appropriate and subtle, much akin to Geddy Lee of Rush.

I don't know if I'm happy or not that Loomis will be part of the project... Of course he's a great musician, but when Nevermore splited-up it was said to be because of band members not getting along too well with each others. I know it might have just been with specific individuals, but a little doubt stays in my mind, telling me that maybe the guy isn't that much of a cool guy to work with. Maybe not the Dave Mustaine kind of dick, but you know...

Everytime someone in the Metal Hell posts a video or a picture of themselves, it makes me think of how much I've talked with you guys... but also of how much I don't know anything about what you guys look and sound like.

I've not explored the whole DT library yet, so I can't tell if he's better. I'll give the album a listen soon :)

Nah! He's been working a lot with Keith Merrow for the past few years, those guys seem to be like best friends by now, I believe there's really an harmony between them, both very humble and passionate about what they do, it almost seems like I'm writing a gay love story or something haha.

They are very hard to get tired of because its always something new.

Yeah I got it. good album.
I know this is off subject but have any of you heard of any possiblity of Strapping Young Lad getting back together?
Dont get me wrong I love Hevy Devys solo stuff but it lacks the pure unrefined power and agression that SYL had.

I thought overall it was pretty good. I'd say it would have been a better follow up to Twilight Of The Gods than Surtur Rising was. I also liked Messiah Marcolin's contribution to the song Hel.

I loved it. The bonus CD is odd but still cool.
Hel is an awesome song. Is that who does the backup?

Another great AA album; maybe even a little bit better than their others. It's nice to know that at least one thing in this world is consistent, even nicer that this one thing happens to be a quality melodic death metal band. Hel IS an awesome song btw, though Father of the Wolves is probably my favorite.

I mentioned it above. It's Messiah Marcolin who was a former singer for Candlemass.

"Don't go beyond Jupiter" My review of the album Dingir by Rings Of Saturn.
Check it out :) And give me feedback!
I just found the band Iron Witch today (The Sludgelord made a post saying all of their stuff was "Pay what you want" on bandcamp so I decided to check em out.
They're not that bad to be honest. If you haven't listened to them you can hear their stuff here.

Interesting read haha. I've been wondering what Rings Of Saturn sound like (because I'm too lazy to look em up haha) but after reading your review I'm fairly certain I'm not missing out on anything.

Well, just listen to one of their tracks on YouTube. Their music doesn't have much depth and it doesn't vary much one track from another, so you'll know real fast what you think them.

I looked up a song from that album you reviewed and o.O what the hell am I listening to.....

I too, was interested in what this may be, so I also looked up a song. Felt... empty. And definitely not my thing.
Vista Chino (Kyuss) have released another song off their upcoming album Peace.

Ahhh I knew I regonized it. He was always a good singer, good to hear him in something.

So I found out that entire Vista Chino album has been leaked. So I went out and found a download of it (i'm still buying it though) and its actually really good. Also two things. On the song Planets 1 & 2 Brant Bjork sings for the first half then John Garcia sings til the end, and the final track Acidize? The Gambling Moose clocks in at 13 minutes 24 seconds long. so to anyone here who listens to Kyuss or likes Desert Rock, Stoner Metal, Stoner Rock, and stuff like that I'd recommend getting this when its released.

Yep. Out of the like 5 or 6 singers Candlemass have had over the years hes probably my favorite.
my second favorite singer is Johan Langqvist
