Also Red Fang are working on their 3rd (as of this moment untitled) album which should be released by this fall.
Personally I hope they try sticking to the general style of Murder The Mountains but add in some stuff like from their first album.
Though I did like Crows In Swine...

Probably their best album imo. Anyone know any albums with a similar sound?

Oh god, I loved this band and specially this album when I was 14 and 15 years old, they were my favourite band back then and seeing this post feels very nostalgic. And I agree with you, this album is certainly their best, it's classic, very epic songs like Halo, Clenching the Fists of Dissent, Beautiful Mourning and A Farewell to Arms. My favourite album from them along with Through the Ashes of Empires and Burn my Eyes.

Not metal but....
Anyone here listen to The Black Angels? They're a psychedelic rock band and a few of their songs have a bit an Om-like vibe but with guitars added in and not just bass and drums.
This is what I'm talking about. Then again I'm probably only hearing this because I'm like half asleep at the moment haha.

Hello Metal Hell. A few days ago I travelled down here to find a place among the flames of epicness. However it was shortly made clear to me that I apparently did not know metal. So I went on a quest to eradicate my ignorance and have now returned to regale you with the tale of my journey.

(In order from first listened to last listened, also I'm not crazy enough to do this all at once :)

Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance
Edguy - Theater of Salvation (x3)
Blind Guardian - A Night at the Opera
Accept - Blood of Nations
Stratovarius - Visions
Anthrax - Among the Living
Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon
Black Sabbath - The Best of Black Sabbath (CDs 1&2)
Iron Maiden - Brave New World
Scorpions - Love at First Sting
Edguy - Hellfire Club
Blind Guardian - Memories of a Time to Come (3hr limited edition)
Metallica - âEU¦And Justice For All
Judas Priest - Defenders of the Faith

I'll always have a soft spot for hard rock, there's some metal that just can't be beat. I think I'm gonna listen to full albums while I do other things for a long time. So what do you say? Can this one pass through the gates of Metal Hell?

We ask the new members to list 10 metal bands they like to see if they fit the requirements. This list is all good. We have some thrash metal, power metal and doom metal on your list. If you like these bands and want to join the Metal Hell, then yes, we'll be happy to welcome you in the Metal Hell.

Welcome :)

Indeed. To be honest I don't even remember how they got on my computer, but they were on my WMP so I decided to check em out.

Yeah, that psychedelic Om vibe, but more stoner rock-ish.

Wtf wtf!

I was searching about those japanese Blood Stain Child, which Elixur recommended and I came across with this.

If you don't recognize that melody. Here you go.

Apparently, Eluveitie copied that melody, I don't know, they're too similar for it to be an accident, even in the female voice and some growls. Though, Eluveitie song sucks as it progresses, sounds like Evanescense.

Yeah, I enjoy some of Eluveitie's music but that is blatant plagiarism. Honestly, I never made the connection of the two songs until you brought it up, as I never really listen to them side by side I guess.

Oh, and you liked the bands I recommended? Well, try Nightrage then. Descent Into Chaos, Sweet Vengeance and A New Disease Is Born are albums you should like.

I did check these guys out, so far I've only listened to A New Disease Is Born, but I plan on listening to the other two albums right now in fact. So far, I really enjoy what I'm hearing.

Here's a few tracks I've come across recently I thoroughly enjoyed.
Eutectica- Wasteland After War

Human Error- Memories of the Afterlife

Universum- Sum of the universe

Insomnium- Drawn to Black

System Shock- Tiny Wave

Enthrone the Unborn- Saviours

Amaranthe- Hunger
This band is amazing, their music has been raping my speakers as of late.

Serenity- To Stone She Turned

Altaria- Unchain the Rain

Empires of Eden- New Hope
If you like Power metal, highly suggest

Gates of Ishtar- Where the Winds of Darkness Blow

Zonaria- Contra Mundum
This band makes charlie sheen look tame.

Kalter- From Now to Eternity

and one more for now
Be 'Lakor-Countless Skies
This band is probably my favorite of last year, their music really speaks to me man.

Anyway I in no way expect anyone to listen to all these, but if you're bored and need something to play in the background while bbsing there ya go. I may come back and post a few more I enjoy if it's cool that I drop a million links up in here.

Also, both Gris and Sombres ForetsGris and Sombres Forets will release albums in June. Great news for black metal!

In Flames are just pure classic man, you can never go wrong. They were pretty much the pioneer for melodic death metal.

If I had to give my favorite album of theirs, I'm not sure what I would say. I enjoy almost all their music to be honest, including Whoracle, Clayman, Colony, Reroute to Remain, Soundtrack to your Escape and Come Clarity.

It's worth noting their recent albums are also quite good, although I wouldn't claim them to be the band's best work.

Reroute to Remain or Soundtrack to your Escape is probably my favorite to be honest.

That's interesting because everything after Clayman sucked. Now they're borderline metalcore.

So apparently Church Of Misery released a new album.
This is all I could find for songs off of it on YouTube.
B.T.K. (Dennis Rader)
Lambs To The Slaughter (Ian Brady / Myra Hindley)
Brother Bishop (Gary Heidnik)
All Hallow's Eve (John Linley Frazier)

Hey guys. A few months ago I became the lyracist for a musician on Newgrounds named Frootza. He hasn't made very many works but he has a couple of short heavy metal songs that I like.
Moonshot
Frenetic
Frootza is stll pretty unknown so I figured I'd do a little spreading-the-word.

Black Tusk - Bring Me Darkness

These guys are opening for Kvelertak on their actual North American Tour. I've seen them live and it's amazing :) I find bands who manages to mix genres together to be quite impressive. These guys are from Georgia just like Baroness and Mastodon (they even have the same guy doing their album covers), and their music style mixes Sludge and Southern Metal. And boy, is this a goddamn killer mix! It's groovy, but without falling in the "jump da fuck up" we get from nu metal bands, and they have just enough hardcore and metal in their sludge for it to make some rough badass cowboy music on steroids. Enjoy :)

Not sure if this is metal, but it surely is bloody good. This is a french one-man project and metal-archives says the genre is Experimental Black Metal, but it my opinion it surely is experimental and even avantgarde, but I'm not sure if it really is black metal. You can tell there are metal influences in this album particularly (I still didn't have the opportunity to hear his split with other band and his most recent EP though), but it feels more dark ambient oriented, with some post-rock, drone, jazz, doom and classical influences (as the video description claims, and it's the truth in my opinion). I also think it has a very strong industrial/electronic feeling in it, with that constant aggressive electronic-sounding snare always being hit in an industrial-esque style.

I also find it funny that all the songs on this album are called "sans titre x". And it reminds me a lot of modern Ulver.
