Kreator were good, but I liked Accept better. I love german power metal.
A show with them two is bound to be awesome. I've yet to see either of them but I should take the next opportunity. Then again, I have Motorhead again in November and quite possibly going to see Angel Witch two days after. November is looking to be a good month.

Where it all started for metal - traditional. Even in modern forms of it there's still lots of excellent content. I have bands like Slough Feg to thank for keeping the traditional metal spirit alive.

Blaaaaaaaaaah
Doom, Drone, Stoner, and Traditional. Although I do like Power and Black Metal.
I also am quite fond of Post-Metal.

avant-garde

progressive metal and black metal.

It really depends of my mood, but primarily it is traditional heavy metal (Iron Maiden, Manilla Road, Slough Feg, etc.) or thrash metal (Heathen, Morbid Saint, Voivod, Megadeth, etc.). But my favorites are usually bands of those two genres who mix in some prog tendencies (Like Manilla Road, Iron Maiden, and Voivod).

Forgot to mention I saw Def Leppard and Poison a while ago. Yes, they (Def Leppy at least), are metal. I don't recall if I mentioned seeing Iron Maiden as well. Crazy stuff. Good shows.

That sounds like a good show.

Anyone here like Sabaton? I just started getting into them.

All I know is Prima Victoria.

Nothing metal about Def Leppard, honestly.

Really? The drummer gets his arm chopped off but can still pound away on those drums.
That's pretty metal if you ask me.
Kinda like Tony from Black Sabbath, lost his fingers in a butcher shop but can still shred that guitar.
That's pretty damn metal lol

Metal attitude doesn't always mean metal music. Beethoven had a complete metal attitude, yet his stuff ain't metal.

Yeah, they're obviously soft rock or some type of indie folk.
I've listened to very little of Def Leppard. Perhaps it depends on what record you're talking about but all I know is High n' Dry. Feels more hard rock than metal.

I really never understood Sabaton. I like a fair amount of power metal but these guys never did it for me.

Now, now. They were part of the New Wave. Compared to everything before that time period, they were/are metal.

Pounding drums doesn't make you metal. I've seen Jazz drummers with more power than the guy from Def Leppard.

Except Black Sabbath is actually a metal band.

Pretty much Hard Rock. Not counting the power ballads here.
So I've been a'thinkin. Is there any Metal band out there with a completely consistently good discography? It seems everyone has at least one album where they slip up or get stale.

This might just be me fanboying, but The Project Hate's discography is the most solid and consistently improving one I have heard. I really am a TPH fanboy though, so my opinion on this matter might just be invalid.

Blind Guardian and Slough Feg come to mind. The least you have to worry about Blind Guardian is A Twist in the Myth which to me is a good album. As for Slough Feg, the worst they did was that wobbly second half of Twilight of the Idols. If those are the worst you have to worry about both bands then it's a sign that they consistently kick a lot of ass!!

I thought about them, but then I realized that I didn't actually hear every one of their albums. As for Cynic, I still haven't listened to all of Traced in Air.
