Just need Master Of Reality and I'll have physical copies of their first 4 albums.
Also bought Legalize Drugs & Murder and im waiting for it to arrive in the mail.

Master Of Reality is a masterpiece, and you will most likely be able to get it for not much more than Black Sabbath. I don't have their first album, but I want it :) The cover is beautiful.

That it is. Hell its my favorite next to Paranoid.
I'm in all seriousness amazed I found a copy of Black Sabbath because I haven't even seen a copy of that in person before. And I agree the cover is amazing. Then again I like most of their covers.

I was just reading the lyrics to the three parts of She Painted Fire Across The Skyline by Agalloch, the other night. And these lyrics are just magnificient. Three sections in particular always hit me when I hear them.

And all of that adds up to 17 minutes in total. That has to be quite a listening session. With a 62 minute album, I have yet more to listen to from them.

Anybody who still haven't heard Pale Folklore is missing out on a huge masterpiece. Go get it :)

It'll have to be the next thing I'll get when I'm on my next spending spree for CDs.

Seriously? That album shouldn't be so rare. If there's any Black Sabbath albums that will never be seen in stores, it's Headless Cross. It's hard enough trying to get it on eBay.

been a while so a quick update.
just received the new track to work on with Infinite Torture...this time besides vocals adding some guitar as welll
also working on a collab remix with Jason "Evil" Covelli...taking a spoken word doom piece and adding a lil Lucifer's Lightbulb touch to it. Also jamming with Jason next month in Kenosha , Wisc. for a gig or two at the Satan's house of Evil..or something like that. also a few more projects for a few comps as well. working on a few gigs in the chicago area around november too.
Also been meeting some really cool people lately who can help me greatly..more on that as things progress.
currently talking with a new friend who has a comedy /horror flick coming out about possibly submitting a track or 2 to the soundtrack.
shit happening now...no more bullshit..doing it.
see ya soon
Keep it HEAVY
peace

So I'm going to see Between The Buried and Me and Periphery in October.
Periphery are kind of shit in my opinion, however much I try to get into them, but BTBAM are by far my favourite metal band and one of my favourite bands altogether, they're also incredible live, so it should be a great gig.

Anyone else here listen to them? Opinions?

If you have seen Headless Cross, all I can say is get the damn album. Well, unless it appears to be bootlegged but I blame whoever is not making it easy to have the IRS albums re-issued. I see Headless Cross on eBay for £20 right now. I'd say I can wait it out but I've done that for years now.

Big if there. Even on vinyl it's still good. Can't say I'm fond of cassettes at all so I avoid them at all costs. I've had a few bad experiences with them in the past.

I don't hate them but I feel there's too much forgettable material. I only remember 2-3 tracks top for each album.

I'm really not huge on death metal but that album is indeed a good one. It's rare occasions where I feel death metal brings me one track with an identity on its own to another. The death metal album I feel accomplishes that the most is Morbid Angel's Blessed are the Sick, even if cluttered with some neoclassical/acoustic interludes.

Now that's what I hear from a new member. Already finding something awesome like Death. As for best songs, my mind mostly thinks of Symbolic so go with title track, Crystal Mountain and Without Judgment. Individual Thought Patterns is another album I really like from them, even though I've seen it being considered as their weakest by fans a few times before. The Sound of Perseverance is a milestone album for them and two songs that stand out are Scavenger of Human Sorrow and Spirit Crusher.

The rest of their stuff is awesome but those are my two favorite albums of theirs.

Well I am a pretty huge fan of vinyl...hell for the longest time I down right REFUSED to buy cds and opted for vinyl instead. Granted a lot of times when you find vinyls for stuff its gonna cost more than it would if it were a CD...then again it also depends on the band. I only buy cassettes if I know im not going to be able to find the album im looking for on anything else other than that at the moment. It also helps that my car has a cassette player so I can actually play them in there. Otherwise they'd just be sitting gathering dust...

I don't hate them but I feel there's too much forgettable material. I only remember 2-3 tracks top for each album.

Yeah its the same for me sometimes. Ya know unless im actually listening to one of em I can never remember all the songs off the top of my head like I can with their previous albums. Then after Never Say Die my mind goes blank for Dio Sabbath stuff...not entirely sure why either. I mean I liked Heaven And Hell but honestly didn't care for Mob Rules so that would be why I go blank for the latter....
Then after that you have Born Again and im not even going to go into that.
I can't tell you how many copies of Seventh Star and Cross Purposes I see though...
And I feel like im babbling on now so I'll stop here :P

There's a few issues with vinyls but that's more over availability than usability. However, many of my dad's vinyls have had some nasty scratches and I know they are very delicate. That's why the one album I have on vinyl (Unholy Cadaver demo - only way to get it along with the CD) I don't even want to play very often. Only twice it's been played. As for availability, ordering them internationally can have hellish shipping and vinyls are only released in limited quantities. That's why unless it's a new album or a recent re-issue, vinyls from Slough Feg and Manilla Road is quite a chase. Supposedly their albums Down Among the Deadmen and Traveller can go over £100 for vinyl variants and if I see one vinyl from Italy having £10+ postage, I hate to imagine what other countries will charge you just to send out a vinyl from their country to here. That saying, getting vinyls mean you certainly have the real deal as it's not so easy to duplicate albums on vinyl like you can with cassette and CD.

I don't hate them but I feel there's too much forgettable material. I only remember 2-3 tracks top for each album.

It doesn't really help when apart from Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die, the rest of the Ozzy albums are the first six Sabbath classics. Really makes it tough on the weaker albums.

I can't tell you how many copies of Seventh Star and Cross Purposes I see though...

Cross Purposes is another hard to obtain album. Again, they really need to re-issue the IRS albums. I was lucky enough to have grabbed TYR from one eBay seller.

I tend to try keeping my vinyls in as good of condition as when i got em. But sometimes if I get a vinyl thats damaged I go and get another copy if I can because I enjoy listening to vinyls. case in point my Cheap Trick Live at Budokan somehow managed to have a big chunk broken off but it broke off right at the blank space between tracks at I Want You To Want Me. So I can listen to that without it cutting off or anything so thats all good.
As for the shipping and stuff. I try not to order stuff internationally because shipping tends to cost a lot more. Like for example I went on Rise Above Records' site to see what they had in the way of Electric Wizard stuff in stock and shipping cost the same as the CD so I'd end up spending $40 on a CD....

That saying, getting vinyls mean you certainly have the real deal as it's not so easy to duplicate albums on vinyl like you can with cassette and CD.

It's difficult but not entirely impossible. You'd need A LOT more resources for the vinyl which tends to detract people from duplicating stuff on vinyl more often.

It doesn't really help when apart from Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die, the rest of the Ozzy albums are the first six Sabbath classics. Really makes it tough on the weaker albums.

Yeah....you listen to those albums and have really high hopes for the last two and then they kinda disappoint you. I mean Never Say Die somewhat makes up for the lack for more memorable songs from Technical Ecstasy, but not enough to make people want to listen to it over and over again.

Cross Purposes is another hard to obtain album. Again, they really need to re-issue the IRS albums. I was lucky enough to have grabbed TYR from one eBay seller.

I see....so on a scale from 1-10 how easy to find is Tyr? Because I've seen a few copies of that as well....
