Yep. And actually, if you go to there website, you can download all their songs for free. Or if you want to support them you can buy their album for like $6, or their EP for $4.

A little support is always nice but I feel when it comes to covers of video games and such, I'm more of just listening to them on YouTube. That's probably why I've never rushed to pick up any Powerglove albums.

Well, because of that whole Megadeth-WASP thing in Croatia, I've decided to finally listen to WASP. It's really weird when you go from believing their reputation of being a bad glam to listening to this. Now I actually really like them. So yeah guys, fuck infamy and rumors, it can really easily prevent you from listening to good bands.

Also, good to see you're back, Bill. This place is now up to 100% metalness now (or some other corny shit).

I personally found them to be very faithful to the source music. If anyone else here is a fan of the Metroid series of games, check 'em out.

Super Metroid is one of my all time favorite :) Such an awesome game ! The adaptation is rather cool :)

sorry that Duff chewed you out. However, we'd appreciate it if you could list your ten favorite metal bands.

Come on, it's not like I fucking punched him or anything.

I'll be sure to check them out. I always make sure to look into what you recommend. After all, you got me into a lot of bands that are still among my favorites, like Ulver, Arcturus, and Solefald.

I have yet to check out Solefald... Which is kind of sad...

I guess Mirrorthrone would count. Either way, that Vlad dude is awesome. My favorite songs are from Gangrene.

Fantastic one-man-band :) Carriers of Dust is my favorite of his albums. I'm also very happy to hear vocals in French every once in a while when it comes to metal bands, especially great bands like this one.

And since I'm going through a Death Metal phase, I'd like some nice recommandations. Here are some Death Metal bands I already know. So you can base your recommandations on this :) Thanks bros !

Archspire is pretty good if you like hyperblasting... a couple more recommendations would be Dawn of Azazel and Funebrarum.

So I've heard that Six Feet Under's new album is not terrible! Who'd have thunk?

Also, one of my favourite bands did a cover of Bathory's Vinterblot, and I'd like to know what you guys think of it.

All of the video game song covers I know and love were available for free.

Also, Havoc Unit is sick.

To me it sounds like if 5 terminator units formed a band together and decided to play blackened metal.

Kiko Loureiro should tour with Satriani, Petrucci, Steve Vai, and Yngwie. And he should be part of a technical prog metal or technical prog death metal band. In fact, Marco Minneman should be in a tech prog death band with Kiko Loureiro and Pete Perez. That would be excellent. and maybe Priscilla Serrano as vocalist.

Samples for Hellwell's album (Manilla Road side project) are finally online

The recent productivity from Mark Shelton is amazing me since not only did they have Playground of the Damned last year, they've got this album done now and they've already got another Manilla Road album in the works. As for Hellwell, I'm digging the Deep Purple influences and look forward to hearing the full album to grasp the concept of the record even more.

Believe it or not, this list took quite a bit of revisions in the past. Despite there being so many other good bands, there are only a few that would be capable of being in them.

Well here are a couple bands:

Akercocke- Phenomenal progressive blackened death metal band. I know I've mentioned them in the past. Check 'em out.

Atheist- Really surprised they weren't on your list. Go listen to them right now.

Bolt Thrower- Cool OSDM band.

Dismember- Great melodic death metal band. Like An Ever Flowing Stream is a classic album.

Hypocrisy- Another really good melodic death metal band.

Here's just a few highlights I thought I would share.

I recall this from your thread in the General forum. Shame threads about metal always get ruined over there. I wouldn't argue with the choices here, even if I happen to not like certain bands that much. A great example is Korpiklaani who I can only enjoy with a track or two for every album they make.

He's fast, ridiculously so, I might add, since I've seen them live, but Prewett goes faster. To this date I've never seen a drummer that ridiculous.

I've seen them live, too. Twice, I might add. When drummers get really fast, it's sometimes hard to discern, but my threshold for what I consider inhuman drumming is 300 bpm. Drummers who go faster than that earn respect and awe from me. Because that's RIDICULOUSLY fast. I can do 220 bpm at the fastest, so drummers who easily go past 300 bpm are just insane fast.

I must say, Mr. Patton, your voice is higher than I originally imagined. I bet you can do power/heavy metal singing quite nicely. Funny, I always imagined you had a deep, smoky, voice, much like Tom Waits or Leonard Cohen. Or Peter Steele (Type O Neg)
