I didn't ask for any Metal gifts for Christmas. My mother did get me an album though. She bought me an album of some of Maurice Ravel's compositions played by the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa. It is absolutely fantastic. One of my favorite classical compositions is on that album. Le Bolero de Ravel.
Here you have the whole tracklist of the album
I will post the album cover at the end of my post.
If anybody likes classical music or le bolero, I suggest you listen to this interpretation. It sounds absolutely great :)

Evolution (The Grand Design) (1232-14%)
I think... I voted for these four tracks exactly. Or maybe I didn't pick Rediscovery... I don't remember. But the other three are fantastic tracks and it's obvious that I voted for these.
The Odyssey (total voters: 3191)
The Odyssey (2017-19%)
What a surprise!
Accolade II (1968-19%)
Awakenings (1606-15%)
Inferno (1534-15%)
I also voted for Accolade II and Inferno. I don't remember if I voted for Awakenings though.
Paradise Lost (total voters: 2758)
Set the World on Fire (The Lie of Lies) (1460-15%)
Paradise Lost (1455-15%)
Revelation (Divus Pennae ex Tragoedia) (1192-13%)

Meanstreak - Roadkill
Watchtower - Asylum
Morbid Saint - Lock Up Your Children
Sodom - Agent Orange
Tell me if you like my recommandations or not :
I knew you would like Sodom and Kreator. But I'm really happy you like Morbid Saint. They are not like the bands you listed first.
It's kind of sad that you don't like Watchtower. There is no and there won't ever be any Progressive Thrash Metal like what these guys recorded! And that bass! Damn!
I really like Meanstreak two. Too bad you don't like them more :P

Sad :(
They're not the only band to avoid their biggest hit live. Primus almost never plays My Name Is Mud, before 2010 Dream Theater used to only play Pull Me Under every so often, etc.
Dream Theater should play all the Images And Words album, and that's all that matters to me :P

They did that for the 15th anniversary of the album back in 2007. But yeah. :P

Its not that I didn't like them, I just liked the other ones better.
Also, one of my friends uploaded a cover to Megadeath's Holy Wars. I think its pretty cool.

How does that make you rage? Willfully ignorant people like that make me laugh.

And Iron Maiden avoided Run to the Hills and The Trooper for some shows. I know you don't like them but you may find that fact interesting. They played The Trooper at Manchester so that satisfied my friend.

Correction: Lou Reed AND Metallica. And besides, why pay for the album when you can hear it online offered by THEM?

Now you're generalising like the guy in the comic.
There's good 'screamo', you just have to look for it. Just like if someone judged all of metal by Slipknot and Bullet for my Valentine they would be well justified in saying all metal is shit.
So....I got a metric ton of video games for Christmas. So......you guys probably won't see me for a while. I will be to busy delving into the magical world of Skyloft. ZELDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you have a point...there CAN be some good screamo bands
i dont like bullet for my valentine and im not a big fan of slipknot either. not really my thing...
im more into Doom Metal, Sludge Metal, Viking Metal, Stoner Metal, Black Metal, and Heavy Metal. sometimes i listen to Folk Metal, Progressive Metal, and Avant-Garde Metal.

Dafuq are we going at? Lol
Bullet For My Valentine are barely metal. Their background is mainly metalcore, and there are far worst examples of bad metalcore out there. You actually picked a band we can easily defend. And Slipknot, well... they were never metal, so why use them as an example?
At 12/29/11 08:32 AM, Bahamut wrote: Correction: Lou Reed AND Metallica. And besides, why pay for the album when you can hear it online offered by THEM?
Yeah well, I didn't even knew who was Lou Reed before they said they were going to release an album with him. So I didn't have huge expectations... But Metallica... I'm not going to be a "the first four albums or nothing else" geek and admit that I like some of their latest material, but... are they even trying with that shit?
And em, people still buy the hard copy, especially Metallica fans and/or people who don't listen to a lot of music in general because they don't get ruined buying albums :P
And em... on a more metal note... or em... on a more good metal note...
I'm really digging that Arch Matheos album you guys mentionned earlier this week. It's fantastic prog. It kind of reminds me of the heavier albums by Dream Theater but with an even better song-writting. I need to get that album :)
Btw guys, it sucks that we don't have anybody in the Nu-Metal/Metalcore Crew. If you like Metalcore, Deathcore, Nu-Metal and the likes, join the Nu-Metal/Metalcore Crew.
It's kind of weird that we don't have some active people in this crew, especially considering how many core fans ask to join the Metal Hell...
Right, so I know you guys didn't list Taake (I even know how to pronounce it right. :P Nah, I'm just teasing. I still do though.) in your Black Metal recs, but I've become pretty addicted to them the last week or so. Favorite album being Hordalands Doedskvad. I do actually quite like their newest album as well.
Anyway, I'm working my way through your recommendations and I'll keep you posted on what I liked and what I didn't like.
List of bands because you people seriously constantly talk about the same shit over and over.
Black metal:
Infestus
Arckanum
Enthral
Negative Plane
Lust- Genesis of a satanic race ( awesomely awesome)
Ravencult
Sacrementum
Averse Sefira
Death metal:
God Macabre
Imprecation
Rippikoulu
Morpheus Descends
Father Befouled
The Wakedead Gathering
Innumerable Forms

I can hum Hordalands Doedskvad from start to finish. Taake are black metal supreme.

I recommended bands for everyone a while ago. You're wasting your time, bro. Nobody pays attention.
Some guy who listens to metal at my gym saw my immortal shirt and asked, "What is that on your shirt? Is that a band?" I said, " Yeah, they are black metal." He goes, "Black metal? Is that new?"
LOL!!!!
This guy was older then me and didn't know of black metal. I would assume those who listened to metal would have heard of black metal. It's not like black metal is really underground anymore.

What's that? Metal Hell goes emo?
Stop whinning bitches. The bands we often discuss are bands a few or most members really enjoy. If you're the only one to like a band or if there isn't enough people who like them in here to hold a good discussion, it's kind of useless to bring them up all the time.
I tried to introduce you guys to a few bands lately. Infernal Stronghold, Forteresse and Chasse-Galerie. My post went pretty much ignored. Or maybe people listenned to them and didn't give me any feedback. See, I do check out some of the bands you guys recommand. And I do it as often as I can.

That's because Hammerfall, Labyrinth, Stratovarius are all gay names. If you want to avoid being gay, you should listen to bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Bless The Fall, Black Veil Brides and other bands with hardcore and manly names like these.
Wait what...
As someone who loves power metal, even I can admit that it's pretty gay. hahaha
Btw, i'm compiling my list of top albums for 2011. I don't know what any will be except number 1. And it's funny because my number 1 album will probably be the only nonmetal album on it. haha

A single word in this sentence in this makes this piss me off to unmeasurable levels.
It's "hardcore" if you couldn't tell.

It may not be much but the traditional metal bands you recommend I do check out, especially Dark Quarterer and Longings Past.

Bro I was saying him saying screamo is shit based on the few bands he heard is like someone saying metal is shit after listening to slipknot and bfmv. You get me blud, cause they aren't representative of the genre as a whole.
Listening to Accept's I'm A Rebel is really hilarious if you're Scandinavian. It basically sounds like they're saying "I'm an asshole".
