HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!

Since you're going to such a shitfest, do me a favor and throw bottles full of piss at as many bands as possible. I would really appreciate that. Thanks.
Slayer's thrash classic Reign In Blood was released 25 years ago today.

It's only a classic because it was successful commercially, it's one of the most generic thrash metal albums ever.
Also, Cro-Mags are REALLY good and on that festival too.
Also, BULLSHIT on that "AUSTRALLIA GETS NO GOOD FESTIVALS" as Australia got the Screamfest festival which was: Cynic, Destroyer 666, Destruction, Sonata Arctica, Ensiferum, Spawn of Possession, Rotting Christ, Dark Funeral, Edguy, Black Majesty and many more.
I would've jizzed if that festival happened here.

I'm convinced you haven't heard that many albums.
Nearly every album i've ever heard, especially with metal and/or progressive music, has the best song ALWAYS the last track. Or the second to last track, if the last track is some sort of padding or extro.
What do you guys think of this festival? It's in NYC:
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4
Municipal Waste (<3)
God Forbid
Today is the Day
Howl (<3)
Black Tusk (<3)
Magrudergrind
Ramming Speed
Prime Evil
+ 2 TBA
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5
Cynic (<3)
Obscura (<3)
The Red Chord
A Life Once Lost
Scale the Summit (<3)
Fight Amp
Rosetta
Ultrageist
+ 2 TBA
I'm considering going to this, for the bands that I put <3's next to. Do you guys think it's worth the trip? And also, would anyone be up for meeting up and partying with me? Haha

At least it was able to translate it enough to the point of recognition.
But yeah whatevs, 's all good.

Sweet tastes you got there, bro ;)
How much would a ticket cost? They're expected to be around the $150-$170 mark, I think. Still worth it, in my opinion (it's very rare that we ever get such a decent enough lineup come down this way).
That's still a shitload of money to see only a few good bands. If you like at least 5 or 6 bands from the bands list, though... it can be a decent price. Especially for awesome bands like the 4 I listed :)
Exactly like that :( I really hope many of the bands I want to see don't end up clashing on the day.
Best move they could do, is set the bands from totally different genres to play at the same time, so fans of a specific genre or fans of good bands, don't get to miss what they want to see.

They deserve it, for being much more original than bands like Kvelertak and Devin Townsend Project.

And em, I don't really know Dillinger Escape Plan. So I can't tell. I just listed my personnal favorites.

You are right. Ani shouldn't have said that most bands put their best track at the end of the album. But take progressive bands like Dream Theater, will Learning To Live and Symphony X with The Odyssey. These two tracks are amazing tracks, closing amazing albums :)
I wouldn't try to invente some kind of "scientifical rule" that would demonstrate that all good metal bands put their best tracks at the end of the album, though :P

Yes, you proved your point by listing only six bands all in the thrash metal genre.
Note I said metal and progressive music as a whole. As in, OVERALL, most metal albums and OVERALL most progressive albums.
Not "the final tracks are always the best tracks on the most popular thrash metal albums out there"
Learn to read.
It's not so much of an assumption, as it's more realistic.
Look at TV, movies, books, etc, etc. - anyone with half a brain knows that the best way to leave a lasting impression is to end it with a bang. Same goes with music.
Thrash metal isn't usually so much about epicness or anything either, which makes thrash metal an exception to the rule.
Hey boys, check out this band. The boys are named Infernal Stronghold. They blend Black/Thrash Metal with Crust Punk. It's a very effective blend I might say.
Crashing Trucks Into Churches
Crippling Blasphemous Persistence
Have fun :)

Don't forget Black Label Society, Meshuggah, CKY, Cro-Mags and Watain.
How much would a ticket cost?
Like 140 dollars.
And do you get to see all the bands or do they play on different dates?
All in one day.
I guess this is somewhat like the shitty Heavy MTL we have here in Montreal. Plenty of bands playing on different stages at the same time, you have to pick the ones you want to see. I say that if you get to see at least 4 or 5 bands you like, it's a good deal.
Gnlay.

I've heard worse generic crap from thrash metal.

This is a trend I notice but there's also a fair amount of albums that leave the best until last. I can accept that if they have a really long song to play that would be quite a distractment if it was thrown halfway through.
Finally, after a long pause I posted the next letter in the Metal-ABC: Here's Limbonic Art!
Albums that come to mind where the last track is the best track: (In no specific order)
Every Dream Theater album ever recorded
Symphony X's Symphony X

Symphony X's V - The New Mythology Suite
Opeth's Morning Rise
BTBAM's The Great Misdirect
BTBAM's Colors
Fates Warning's A Pleasant Shade Of Gray
Fates Warning's Perfect Symmetry
Fates Warning's No Exit

Queensryche's Queensryche

All four Atheist albums
Every Death album with the exception of Human

Sepultura's Chaos A.D.
Malevolent Creation's The Ten Commandments (I need to check out more of their albums)
Every Obituary album with the exception of Frozen In Time (redneck stomp ftw)
Pantera's Cowboys From Hell
All four Kyuss albums
Morbid Angel's Covenant
Morbid Angel's Altars Of Madness
Slayer's South Of Heaven
Slayer's Seasons In The Abyss

Every single Nevermore album
Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine
Devin Townsend's Ziltoid The Omniscent (tall latte doesn't count)
Devin Townsend's Ghost
At least 80% of every single power metal album ever recorded
I could carry on and list more and more and more non-power metal album, and I could probably make a list of countless power metal albums, but I feel as if i've made my point.
And yes, I ONLY used major artist's. God forbid if I used less known bands.
Stellarvore was my favorite track on Sworn to the Dark and that was the last track on that album too.
Who gives a fuck about the last tracks on albums, listen to Jag Panzer instead.

Now whats the point of that? Cause I could make a long list like yours of albums that DON'T end with the best track.
Long time not posting. I was wondering how would my ten favourite band list be if I asked to join the Hell today. I guess it would be something like this:
Insomnium
Opeth
Gojira
Black Sun Aeon
Alcest
Lamb of God
Meshuggah
Bongripper
Children of Bodom
Animals As Leaders

And what if we have different tastes? :O Then we are fucked, cause even if the last track on the album is your favorite, it's not my favorite :O
Between the Buried and Me are metal, Swim To The Moon is the best song from The Great Misdirect and White Walls is the best song from Colors. Deal with it nerds.

Here's a random assortment
At 10/8/11 11:56 AM, AniMetal wrote: Metal Church's first four albums
No. Just no. Western Alliance is not the best track off The Dark (I'd give that to Watch the Children Pray, Ton of Bricks, or The Dark). And there is no way their cover of Highway Star is the best track off their debut album. The other two are a tad bit more debatable, so I'll give you those two. But it isn't true for Metal Church or The Dark.

Come to the Sydney one!
Also, really digging new Mastodon - but on the topic of best songs being left until last, this one hasn't done it all that well, unfortunately. At least that's what I think.
Getting a friend to send me the new Metal Hammer with all the awesome Machine Head goodies in it. Real reason though, is it's cheaper including shipping to buy it that way, because I get the album, a magazine, and all the other stuff with it for the price it'd cost to buy it here.
