Yeah. I was truly sad when I read the news so I've been jamming them all week.

Been going back into my hold albums recently. I re-discovered a great band named Quo Vadis, the Quo Vadis from Quebec, not the one from Poland. You might enjoy this. They play a unique brand of progressive and technical melodic death metal, but not an Arch Enemy kind of melodeath. They are unique. I really don't know what album to suggest, they are all good and differents. My favorite when I was a teenager was Day Into Night, but I'm getting more and more into Defiant Imagination now. The last one has a sick cover, I'll post a picture at the end of my post.

I really freaking like them. Quality melo death. Actually, Defiant Imagination is my least favorite of their albums, I really like Day Into Night and Forever... better. Defiant Imaginiation is still great, I just don't find it to be of the same caliber of their other stuff.

My review for King Diamond's Abigail II: The Revenge is now up. I would really like some constructive criticism. I haven't written a review in a while due to being so busy with applying to colleges and shit. So I have a pretty big backlog of reviews I want to write. On my list to tackle next are:

The rest of the Manilla Road discography (I'm on Atlantis Rising)
God Dethroned's Under the Sign of the Iron Cross
Persuader's When Eden Burns
Tygers of Pan Tang's Spellbound
Quo Vadis's Forever...
Mortification's Scrolls of the Megilloth
Vader's The Beast
Forced Entry's As Above, So Below and Uncertain Future
and Final Fantasy VI's Soundtrack (video game music FTW!)

If anyone else has some recommendations of albums I should review, I'll check out if the album already has a review, and if not, I'll try to fit it into my list of reviews.

I have now returned. I know Bill was asking about me. I suppose I didn't mention everywhere that I was going away to Paris but thought bringing it up over in the LUL and on my latest news post (incidentally, latest Monday Metal Treasures post was for Týr) would have been enough.

Since my absence, the most that happened was the full song for Hammers of Misfortune's 17th Street being posted online as well as hearing the whole of Lou Reed and Metallica's The View. To me, it's comedy gold, especially "I AM THE TABLE!" line. Radikult is out, The View is in.

To be fair, Running Wild retired in 2009 and the last album was in 2005. :P Even they ran out of ideas in the end but not Lemmy. I even think some of the later albums show some difference to Motörhead's music.

At 9/27/11 05:06 PM, greensucksbluerules wrote: So Yahoo decided to make a worst heavy metal albums list today. Guess what they put at number 1?

Eh, I didn't find it to be a good list. Fear of the Dark may be cluttered with fillers but it still has some fantastic tracks. I was expecting to see Helloween's Chameleon on there, despite myself actually enjoying it. Hell, I gave it 80% on MA years back. Maybe some of us have a soft spot for the odd generally hated album.

At 9/28/11 06:36 PM, batman64 wrote: Heritage and The Hunter are in my top 3 releases this year..not sure yet who will round it off yet since we still have more releases coming.

I don't think Heritage is that high up for me. I'm still giving it several listens, though as I feel it'll be appreciated more as time goes by.

Actually, they have a new album coming out this month. One reviewer gave it high marks so I was curious about it. I may not be in the best mood to check out new stuff right now. After all, I only got back today but I will give these guys a shot. They may be just the power metal band I've been wanting to discover.

Why? Latin is a beautiful language, and I understand why someone would like to refer to this language or the culture associated to it.

Damn right it's a quality melo death band :) I'm happy to see that you like them :) My personnaly favorite is also Day Into Night, I just thought Defiant Imagination's cover was wicked ! I hope they could still release some good material, even with the drastic line-up change they went through. Here in Quebec, a lot of people said Quo Vadis was dead when Stephane Paré and Yanic Bercier both left the band.

Why? Latin is a beautiful language, and I understand why someone would like to refer to this language or the culture associated to it.

It's just a pet peeve of mine when people use random words or phrases from foreign languages. Like E pluribus Unum, oh lololol I know how to speak latin now. At least bother to learn the language instead of just putting random words of latin in with english. Like if I wanted to say " I am a god " I would say Sum Deus, not I am a deus. Nothing against the band, I've never even listened to them.

I am very glad you asked this question.
The answer is No, I am not sure due also to the fact I put the same lyrics through another online translator and came up with different lyrics. What I posted was just the very first result and translation.
Check this shit out and tell me you can't see the glaring problem with translators.
Urdu Cheddar A.k.a. Holy Cow, jihad over cheese.
scriptures.
demigods feasted cheddar.
cheddar.
cheddar.

:cheddar.

Yes, it looks and sounds funny at first but then it's like WTF? how did this happen.
Found a lot more things like this just using the same lyrics.

Translators just aren't good with context. My latin teacher was telling us that if you tried to tranlsate " tear " ( as in you have a tear in your pants ) the word would come out as " lacrima "
( as in a tear or crying ) So you would end up talking about how your pants are crying.

Will be around and not around the next couple days or so, have a bunch more stuff I am working on as well. Also, I have a request for all of you and I mean all.
If anyone in here can read and/or speak another language can you please post which languages?
Working on a fun project and need foreign speakers.

Learning latin. Not fluent though.

They don't have much latin in their lyrics in fact, it's just the band's name that is in latin. I know what you mean and I understand that it can easily be perceived as a cliché, especially for Metal bands. It doesn't bother me if the music itself isn't cheesy.
