Jag Panzer have called it a day. I never discovered all their stuff but I was hoping they would re-release Ample Destruction at some point. Hopefully that still goes through despite the split-up.

This is good stuff. I'm satisfied until the end of September.

It's an incoherent piece of shit with some utterly laughable lyrics (they actually sing about YouTube and apps) but at least they didn't make their fans wait 8 years for a new album.
Haha ohhhhhhhh Queensryche.

Hopefully they don't play TOO much new stuff when I see them on saturday XD

They'll probably play Get Started at least. Thankfully that's the least offensive song on the new album. It actually sounds better live.

How can I deny that? :D
You can't. haha

It sucks, Running Wild only did one north america tour EVER. And it was in 1987 opening for motley crue.

Heh, I'll never get the chance to see them live. I think it was as soon as I started picking up more Running Wild albums when Rock 'n' Rolf called it a day. Running Wild was one of my first bands for hunting down rare CDs.

Really? I love damnation AND Orchid

I think you can understand why Damnation goes at the bottom for me but Orchid, I think that does need an explanation. I just feel it's far too unpolished and the song structures don't feel engaging enough but the album still has its moments.

They're the one band I don't know on the tour, aren't they melodic death?

They are a Melodic Death Metal band, indeed. One of the few I still listen to.

Then finish with the album Pale Folklore by the magnificient band Agalloch.

I actually don't really like Leviathan compared to other Mastodon stuff. My favorite album of theirs is Blood Mountain. Try that one if you haven't given it a shot already.

Also, heard rumors that Fleshgod Apocalypse might be releasing a new album soon, for those who care.

It would be quite the song if they hadn't decided to be more Vivaldi and less Hour of Penance. They had the proper mix of classical interludes and death metal on their other album and EP. On this song the keyboards overpower the guitar work most of the time, but it's a good song nonetheless, good enough to make me pay to go to Summer Slaughter to see them and Black Dahlia Murder.

I haven't posted here in a while, but I was wondering if anyone could give a few recommendations for bands to listen to.

I mostly prefer thrash, heavy and epic metal, with my favorite albums right now being Bonded By Blood by Exodus, Metal Church by Metal Church and Ignorance by Sacred Reich. Not very descriptive, I know, but it's the best I can give right now. I'm tired.

Anyone have anything similar to recommend?

Some albums to investigate:

"For Whose Advantage?" by the band Xentrix. (Similar to Sacred Reich)

"Eternal Nightmare" by the band Vio-lence. (Similar to both Scared Reich and late 80's Exodus)

"Darkness Descends" by the band Dark Angel. (Purely because it's awesome)

"Extreme Aggressions" by the band Kreator. (Different from the thrash you seem to like, but still probably one of the greatest thrash metal albums ever. And it probably has the MOST emotion a thrash metal album has ever had.)

"Feel The Fire" by the band Overkill. (One of the most popular thrash metal bands, along with one of the first bands to play thrash. Personally I only enjoy their first two albums though. FtF is a masterpiece, and very similar to Metal Church)

"No Place For Disgrace" by the band Flotsam & Jetsam. (Probably the closest thing to Metal Church you will ever hear, that isn't a metal church worship band)

"Walls Of Jericho" by Helloween. (Helloween's only thrash metal album, but a great one. Probably one of the rawest albums out there, that isn't like black metal or crust punk. haha)

"Battalions Of Fear" by Blind Guardian. (BG is a band like Helloween only were only really thrash in the beginning, and even then they were quite melodic. But they were great nonetheless, and might expand your horizons to other genres of metal if you let them)

I only recommended one album by each band. If you enjoy said album, obviously check out their other stuff. If you need more recommendations, come back. Most of the bands I recommended are quite popular so it wouldn't surprise me if you know most of them already, but if not get to them.

When you return, i'll give you loads more thrash to check out. ;D
