i would like to join as im a massive fan of metal of all sorts.
i like a lot of different bands and cant decide at this time what my favs are but heres a sample of what i like.

suicide silence
wintersun
bring me the horizon
kamelot
amity affliction
dark tranquility

they are the ones i can think of at this time

Well, latest Bongripper album is Doom Metal and the last track even feels like Drone for the first 5 minutes.

I also do not listen to Electric Wizard quite a lot. I do love the Dopethrone album. But rarely do I ever listen to the whole thing. Not cause it's not good, but it's ear-shattering... The distortion, the heavyness, the numbing effect on the brain... Damn! It's a great album, but hardly can you get through the album in one sit.

Absolutego is a pretty cool Drone album, but not a good place to start if you are trying to get into Drone Doom. Their colab with Sunn O))) is a Masterpiece though, I will give you that. So Bahamuth, if you are trying to get into Drone Doom, I suggest you listen to the album Altar by Sunn O))) & Boris. My other favorite in Drone Doom is The Black One by Sunn O))). Like I previously stated, every track is different, so you can easily tell where it's going and not make the mistake of saying that Drone is always the same boring shit.

If you want to join the Metal Hell you will need to list 10 bands though. And avoid listing bands like Suicide Silence, Bring Me The Horizon and Amity Affliction. These three bands are Deathcore and Post-Hardcore bands. Those are not Metal bands and do not qualify to join the Metal Hell. All other three bands are metal, but you will need to list a few other bands so we can see if you would really fit in the Metal Hell :)

Barring the fact that each genre has its own positives and merits, black metal as a whole does a good job encapsulating emotions, but it has no sense of "groove" or "fun", which stoner metal, for the most part, is all about. Sometimes I get an emotional weariness from listening to bands like Lantlos (really good by the way) or Mayhem wear either nostalgia or pure hatred are transmitted through audible means.

I've done a lot of philosophical musings about the true reason behind music as an art form; more specifically whether it is primarily a way of expressing feeling or as an expression of cultural identity (folk music, ethnic music etc.). Granted both can be reconciled, especially in an immigrant situation (feeling of nostalgia for the old country), which brings me to my point:

is black metal, as defined by my standards, (or any emotional music for that matter) the purest form of art (again speaking strictly in the terms i've defined), or does it lack something? This question has always bothered me because I've always been turned off by black metal as a whole, but not because of the rage it embodies or the emotions it tries to get across. I've always found it to be some musicians trying to create their own identity separate from the rest of the world, effectively a deconstruction of traditional thought in some ways. It is this, well overly analyzed conclusion that I have come to, which has always turned me off from black metal. It can be REALLY fucking pretentious.

I was just joking, i've never even heard any stoner metal and I prefer power metal to black anyway.
