Sorry, I added Watchtower to the list, but he didn't play with them. But he was a guest musician with Spastic Ink.

Not the same band :P But are "Agora" actually good?

To join the Metal Hell, you need to post ten metal bands. As Sense already said, only Metallica and Slayer are Metal.

Van Halen and Guns N Roses are rock bands. System Of A Down, Snot, Distured and Godsmack are Nu-Metal bands. Just so you know, Nu-Metal isn't Metal. It's a genre that should have never been named this way, as it really doesn't have much metal elements and/or influences.

Finaly, Bullet For My Valentine are a Metalcore band. Metalcore like Deathcore, Crunckcore, Post-Hardcore and all the other "cores" are not Metal sub-genres.

If you want to get in, you will need ten proper metal bands.

I know, and yeah, they're good. I have Segundo Pasado and I want to get Zona de Silencio. They kinda remind me of early Dream Theater or Vanden Plas a bit. I just don't like how they keep doing the ballad kinda stuff.

Opeth's new album has been titled Heritage and is due for release on 20th September. I don't know why but something about the name sounds very Opeth-like. It's an album title that certainly suits them well. As for the release date, it's far too convenient for me as it'll be my sister's birthday a few days after.

Reliable sources point to 18th October. Maybe the album was released later in America. I'm surprised America get a fair amount of metal releases rather late. Not sure what the reasons are but it's not a good at all.

Well, now I'm at a dilemma. It is a very kickass album, so it's going to make my top 10 of the year. But should I re-edit my 2010 list to fit that, or do I count it as a 2011 album for that list? Cuz it was only available to me in 2011. Hmmmm....decisions, decisions.

Boris - Heavy Rocks II came out, and so did Vintersorg - Jordplus. gotta get those soon.

I got some new albums

Yaotl Mictlan - Guerreros de la tierra de los muertos (Mexican black/folk metal)
Transmetal - el Infierno del Dante (Mexican thrash/death metal)
Transmetal - Progresion Neurotica
Transmetal - el Despertar de la Adversidad

Have any of you guys seen Until the Light Takes Us? It hardly tought me anything new at all, but I got a little bit out of it. I thought Varg's explanation of the night he killed Euronymous was a bit fishy. Also, I didn't realize Hellhammer was such a homophobic asshole. He's still an amazing drummer, so I'm still gonna listen to stuff with him, but what a dick. Also, Frost is a weirdo (and kind of an idiot, judging from that crappy performance art). One of my favorite parts was with him sitting next to the kid on the plane.

0_0 ...... "uh..hi?"

Also, hearing Varg talk about Corn Flakes was amusing.

But yeah, I didn't get that much from it, plus a big amount of it was just Fenriz walking around. meh.

Woops. Overdid it.

Anthrax, Arch Enemy, Black Label Society, Children Of Bodom, Devil Driver, Dimmu Borgir, Emperor, GWAR, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Sepultura, Slayer, Manowar, Mastodon and Motorhead are all Metal bands. Lamb Of God is pretty much borderline between Metalcore and Groove Metal. FFDP are hardcore, Led Zeppelin are rock, and Rob Zombie is a weird mix of hard rock, industrial and electronic music.

Not bad for a 17 year old. But if all of us started listing the bands they have seen live, the thread would be flooded, lol.

Meh, why not add to this discussion? I'd list them myself but you can see the list so far right here. I have many shows planned this year with Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Slough Feg and Solstice, Heidenfest 2011 (I think I'll be going) and Cathedral (their final show).

I can't remember the dates of the live shows anymore. I know I saw Metallica live in 1996 and then a shitload of bands between then and now. It really is too much to list it here... :P
The thing is, on festivals you can see so many bands, it's hard to remember them all. XD

I just quickly checked to see which metal festival was on and came across Tuska Open Air Metal Festival. The lineup is extremely good and quite possibly better than what Bloodstock are offering this year.

I made a short list... because I would actually like to see much more bands then what I listed. These were just the bands I MUST see at least once in my life. But there are at least 40 other bands I would really enjoy seing live.

But what about Helloween? You really want to see them even with their actual line-up? I know they are still good, but it's not the Keeper's line-up.

I don't hate Lamb Of God. They make decent Groove Metal, which is really a great accomplishment. Making Groove Metal actually listennable is hard to do. And even if they make metalcore, you know that's not a problem for me, you know that. But since it's the Metal Hell, when someone joins, if he lists mostly "core" bands and nu-metal bands, then we know he might not fit in, right?

In 2011 metal releases news, the new HammerFall is complete garbage, the new Týr album is kickass, especially its covers to pay a tribute to Dio and Timo Tolkki continues to be a laughing stock with his new band Symfonia. I was hoping this would at least be decent considering André Matos and Uli Kusch but Timo only showed he was just recycling Stratovarius tracks for his band.

Heidenfest only has up to ten artists. Ten or less should be easy to remember. This year will have six acts playing with an additional one or two playing at certain venues. One of them is Wintersun but they're not listed for an additional act to play in London.

Doesn't matter, I'm a fan of their later works. I accept the fact that the Keepers era was 20 years ago and the band have well moved on from then.

Rock Hard Festival has 22 artists, if I only see half of them it's 11 bands. And every year 11 bands adds up more quickly than you might imagine. After a while it becomes really hard to remember which band you saw on which festival in what year. ^^
If you watch every artist at Heidenfest for 10 years, then that's 100 bands!

I really liked The Dark Ride. That might be because I have yet to give any of their other albums a full listen but I still think that I would be more than glad to see them as they are.

I've yet to actually go to a concert in my life and I don't know when I ever will. I'm not even sure who I would want to go see. It's not so much a matter of whether I like a band enough or not but more if I am willing to surround myself with those kinds of people. I mean, for example, I like Watain but I don't think I'd really be comfortable being at one of their shows, maybe that's just me being a little paranoid or misguided.
