Yeah back in February 2010, ol' Patrick here went to see Mastodon, and Matt from Evile asked if anyone could get him a Mastodon hoodie cause they didn't have time to see Mastodon play or something cause of gigs, long story short, he gives him hoodie and leads to events which he just talked about.

I've given both of the recommended Dream Theater albums a listen, and I don't know what the verdict is. I need to listen a few more times to decide if I like it not. It'll probably grow on me like Train of Thought did. Still an amazing album in my opinion. Best ending song ever. I love the message of In The Name of God, and the riff is relentless. It has a great solo guitar section too, while Petrucci shreds some cool latin percussion plays and the bass lays down a thick beat.

Dear Metal Archives,
You guys fucking suck. I have registered twice, under two different names and emails, and no confirmation email. For either account. What, were my favorite genres too mainstream? My favorite bands not obscure enough? All I want is to add my two cents on some of my favorite albums, maybe even suggest a band that *gasp* NO ONE HAS EVER HEARD OF?! What the fuck, guys, seriously. Not only do you somehow approve dumb, ignorant, overly opinionated reviews (as discussed on previous pages), but you don't see fit to add a stoked new member to the community.

I know Bison are cool. I have brought them up before. I also saw them live with Kvelertak and Coliseum.

Forget Valentine's Day, here's Agent Steel's Rager.

I've been looking into some extra long metal songs recently as shown here over the last few days and I want to hear from you guys what are good metal songs that last for 30+ minutes. I'm thinking of picking up Edge of Sanity's Crimson and I'll be sure to get Moonsorrow's EP and Viides Luku - Hävitetty.

Oh god no.

"Imagine how the breakdowns would be ruined by a bassist in the band! Ew! The drummer is the last part of this masterpiece. During the blasts, he shows that he has invented a cool new trick: a completely incoherent version of a drum roll that has no beat at all. It produces a series of absolutely random notes that causes the songs to go off-rhythm. Of course, the drummer, in performing this epic technique, gets exhausted after five seconds, so he just stops drumming whenever his arms get tired. Some people say it's because the drummer sucks. Well, I think that it's just that the recording equipment can't handle the drummer's level of AWESOME. Yes, that must be it. Then you have the breakdowns, which display this man's absolute mastery at the art of br00tal drumming. 40 beats per minute? No. Fucking. Way. How much more epic can you get?"

LOL that's not the reason moron :P

Listened to Dopesmoker today, that was sweeeeeeeeet.

Listened to PT's The Incident again, can't get enough.

Also, Borknagar's The Olden Domain. Has to be one of the greatest black metal albums, it wins so bad and kicks so many other black metal band's arse. I have to check out the new Burzum, it's probably really shit.

'Tis a shame when Hyvis Lyset Tar Oss and Filosofem were so fucking cool.

Ripper Owens to record unreleased Dio material! DO NOT WANT! Surely there's many better vocalists to fit the role for recording whatever songs Dio's band couldn't finish off.

So my friend showed me this Finnish Black Sabbath tribute band that covers Black Sabbath in Finnish this morning. Figured some of you guys might be interested.

Dio's modern material is actually quite mediocre, so whatever.

That's me, lol. HOOOLY DIIIVA! YOU'VE BEEN OUT TOO LONG IN THE MIDNIGHT SEAAAA.

But not really, I suck at singing, and although I don't like Dio, I respect the legend enough to agree with you. Plus I hate when bands get a new member and move on after a beloved one's death.

Response to Metal Hell 2011-02-15 04:27:44

I don't know about you but I find the new Amon Amarth song to be rather generic. I enjoyed Twilight of the Thunder God but I'm not clicking on to the songs from their new album so far.

I could understand they want to finish off the material Dio couldn't do but why get an average singer? So many better vocalists out there. This is also another filling in the shoes moment for Ripper Owens. First Judas Priest, then Iced Earth and now this.

Sounds epic. I'm hoping I can find a ride to Des Moines to go see Queens of the Stone Age in April.

Can I stow away in the trunk?
So I'm basically sitting here shitting myself with impatience. NEED MOAR OMNIVIUM NAO.
Also, Metal Archives still sucks. I trolled my Gmail spam folder, inbox, everything. Nada. Come on. This is dumb.
Also also, Priestess is frekkin awesome. They of course have some mediocre songs, but they seem to be heavily influenced by Queens of the Stone Age, which is instant win, plus their songs that are good are really catchy. I laik vair mach.

Slayer is one of my favorite metal bands, I even like their new material. I hope he recovers, since this disease is quite difficult to be cured from.

I got Death's The Sound of Preseverance in the mail today, and I must say I'm suprised. I hate remasters, and I really like this. That's because you can barely tell the difference between this and the original. Almost unnoticeable vocal echoe, slightly less plastic drums, and feels just a little bit more treble oriented. As for the demo material, it really takes the cake. Instruments are much more clear, making it easier for covering by ear. Though the vocals are kinda the weak link of the demos, it still is really cool to see how Chuck's vocals evolved from a low to high pitch.

It's a really good release, and worth the money. If you are really into demo material and/or a huge Death fan, it's the perfect thing for you. My only problem is how tight the sleeve is around the CD case. It makes it a little tedious to open.

Found another band called Cimmerian.

I know their Drummer/keyboardist and Vocalist/lead guitarist. They're progressive death metal.
