I saw this album in the record store yesterday. It was on sale. I haven't really listened to Opeth before, but I guess you would recommend me to buy it?
It's a good album, and a good start with the band Opeth. Starting with My Arms, Your Hearse wasn't the best way to approach the band.

I feel the same about some albums I get. The best example was starting off Rhapsody with Rain of a Thousand Flames EP. Probably the weirdest way to get into the band. Another example I have is My Dying Bride's A Line of Deathless Kings. While I think it's a decent release, I feel there's a more accessible album of theirs that would have been the ideal album to get first.

So, I'm again on a band hunting spree. Any progressive metal or death metal recommendations would be helpful! Thanks.

Sorry for the double post, but any good traditional metal bands would be good too.

I'm wanting to look more into traditional metal bands (well, american traditional metal) and Dalnaki recommended these bands a while ago. I really should check them out soon as well as getting some of Omen's albums.

In Mourning, Opeth, Death, and Gojira fit into both of those categories.

I just remembered I uploaded a 40 minute progressive metal epic by Renaissance to Youtube a while back. You should check it out if you have time.

Hell, just listen to a few minutes of it.

I thought At The Gates broke up and kinda reconnoitered into The Haunted. Perhaps I was misinformed.

Also, some Albums I forgot to mention:

Low - Testament
Virus - Hypocrisy
rEVOLVEr - The Haunted
Internal Punishment Programs - Red Harvest
Antares - Sybreed (only a few songs though, not really the whole thing)
Folie Circulaire; Dualitas - Both by Withered
Mit Gas - Tomahawk
Kuolemanpalvelus - Sotajumala (these guys have come a long way)
obZen - Meshuggah

The Unspoken King - CrypLOLpsy trolololol.

About the metal albums that constantly amaze me/I constantly enjoy, I would have to narrow it down to:

Gorguts - Obscura. Always impresses me that one, I love iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

Dream Theater - Awake. I know this album off by heart now, and I love it every time. It's never ceased to be one of my favourite albums ever.

Ulver - Bergtatt. Never stop enjoying it. The riffs just touch me man.

Kyuss- Kyuss. Never stop enjoying this one either. It's the most genius rock ever.

Clutch - Clutch. It's pretty heavy, perhaps not metal but It's way up there on my list of best albums ever. I SAY THE WORD EVER ALL THE TIME. LIKE FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER.

Sleep - Holy Mountain. Yep, classically classic. No matter how many times, it's never shit.

There's definitely a few more I should say but those are my classics.

So Norwegian girl, mind uploading a pic of yourself :P

I've gone and swiped a copy I came across on the internet. I really want more 20+ minute songs in my library and I'm looking into getting more hopefully soon.

Ummm.... I'm entirely unsure how to react. Particularly at 1:59.

What is this I don't even... What the fuck.

I just don't see why post that on a Metal crew. That's like pop punk mixed with post-hardcore.

I somehow managed to force myself watching the whole thing. But now that I think about it, I'm not sure why...

Anthrax' Spreading The Disease is fast becoming a favourite album of mine. I really wish I'd started listening to them earlier.

I've been meaning to buy this album. So far I've only got Among The Living.

I might be crazy but I never quite got into Spreading the Disease like I did with Among the Living. Hell, I find myself enjoying Time more than Spreading the Disease. I know this is the album with Madhouse and while I think it's a good song, Anthrax have made better songs.

Cause it's hella lolzy. For what it is I suppose it's probably good.
You can candy coat shit, but it's still shit. What I found funniest about the video was the... Singer's... Facial expressions. Even while he's smiling he looks like ha wants to knife all the bros in the video, then when he screams, he looks super pissed. Probably cause his allowance was docked.
