Hey, my pagan pals. It's quite gloomy outside today, and I have the odd desire to reflect on it with some metal. Does anyone know of any good doom or death/doom bands that I should check out?

I just a found a gothic/doom band a few days ago. They're called The Foreshadowing. Check out Days of nothing I guess.

The only thing I don't like about Finland is mandatory military service. Of course, many countries do that but I wouldn't live in any of them for that reason alone. I feel I don't have a good medium for that.

Speaking of doom metal, my sister came across an instrumental doom metal band called Bongriper. She found out about them when someone she knew on Facebook mentioned them so she checked them out and got the digital-only (BOOOOOOOOO!) album. I'm wanting to hear more kickass instrumentals so I need to give their latest album a good listen once I've played through all the albums I got during the holidays enough times.

I just find it boring, but maybe that's just because it's my native country. Having to study Swedish at school and military service is annoying though, I'll probably go to prison instead of joining the army.

Not much difference between those 2. I think I can spend my time more productively in prison reading books than playing with guns in the forest.

Now if we go back far enough in time polytheism was a wide-spread idea that was supposedly around when we were all cave-men. They believed there were spirits for fire, the sky, the earth and so forth. If we evolved from those cave-men doesn't that mean almost all of us have pagan roots?

I think that's how everyone is about their native country. It's like a modesty thing. People are always like "Wow! You come from Ireland! That's so cool!" and I'm like "If you say so". By the way, I've heard that Finnish people in general are really quiet and stoic. Any truth to that?

I got myself a black longcoat just before the worst of the snow hit. It's really warm and comfy, but I can't really wear it now since it's getting warmer again.
Whoever mentioned Crystal Viper is right, they're a great band, reminds me of old metal bands, and the singer sounds like Geddy Lee! Good stuff.

Finland is way better than Portugal. It's colder, and I like cold. There's snow, and that's cute. Music is way better and people are very open-minded... open-mindness and good popular music doesn't exist in Portugal. You guys are always drunk, and well, here in Portugal I can find a lot of drunk people in weekends at bars, but they're all jerks humiliating themselves dancing like returds. In Finland if you crash against someone in the street unintentionally you will just ignore, keep walking and the other person will not say nothing, while in Portugal if that happens that person might just scream at you and try to oblige you to say sorry. How do I know this? Some friends of mine spent one week there in vacation, they didn't want to come back to Portugal.
While there is hope, I believe one day... I will live in Finland or just visit it for a long time.
