It's french rap, which is awesome

and breakdowns are not bad, unless you have 45 of them per albums...

Thanks :)

Tell me what you guys think of my review. A review of my review could help me make better ones in the future. I've already read Bill's comment on my review and I appreciate the support! If anybody else get a chance to read it, feel free to comment, I'm still working on getting my English a little better and expressing my thoughts properly when it comes to music.

Hahahahahaha! Omfg! It's funny how he just doesn't care...

Yesterday I've got myself some more music to listen to:

Arcturus - La Masquerade Infernale
Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors
August Burns Red - Messengers (Let's just ignore this one, shall we?)
Borknagar - The Olden Domain
Caspian - The Four Trees
Gifts From Enola - From Fathoms
Sculptured - Embodiement

So there is some Avant-Garde, some Black/Folk, some Post-Rock, some Metalcore :P, and some... Avant-Garde/Progressive/Melodic Death/Post-Rock influenced Fusion Metal... lulz...

That should keep my busy for quite some time !!!

Caspian - Moksha

I picked up an album called "Higher" by an industrial metal (if you could call it that) band called Treponem Pal. It's not very good. I don't suggest it. I only got it because it was a dollar, the album cover was interesting, and I figured it would be laughably bad (which it is). I'm giving it to a friend for his birthday, along with a VHS tape called "Predators of the Wild; Hunters and Hunted" and the Men in Black soundtrack.

Didn't get much in the way of metal this Christmas unless your definition of Metal could encompass the extended edition of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and a couple of Discworld books.

Also, my girlfriend broke up with me because I don't drink or smoke. Shit sucks, but I perservere.

Wow, not judging or anything, but that's a stupid reason to break up with someone. She'll probably get with a loser and fail at life. You have a good attitude though man, good job, and good luck.

I didn't either, but I did get Castlevania Lords of Shadow, which I guess would be pretty metal if I played some Iron Maiden to it or something.

hey better have a DLC to the ending of Fallout New Vegas or im trading this shit in!!! It's retarded to not be able to play after beating the game, do you know how fucking hard that was?!!! They forced me to drink out of a urinal for health!!!!!

That's kinda bullshit, but it's probably best in the long run. It's hard to date someone who doesn't party, when you do (or vice versa). Young love sucks but you'll manage.

Yeah, apparently I was being too "restrictive" or something. I don't know.

Thanks. Pretty much all the girls I know right now are either cookie-cutter binge drinking whores or naive Puritans, so I think that's me off women for a while. Lol.

I know, right? It's a fucking bullshit way to make a quick buck. Leave out the ending and sell it for half the price of the game. Should be in the next DLC or the one after that, if you've got the Xbox version.

I vaguely recall it being a word in Black Speech. But Varg's not so much a fan of Lord of the Rings as he is a neo-Pagan conspiracy theorist who's read Lord of the Rings and somehow interprets it as Anti-Christian propaganda (it was written by a devout Catholic, mind).

Yeah, high school (or whatever it is you call it) isn't the best place to find worthwhile girls, hahaha. It sucks but it's true. That's why I tend to like older girls (even though I've dated two girls a year younger). Anyway, ya just gotta wait it out!

People think heavy metal started with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath in the 1970s. I find this to be false. Heavy metal really started in 1867... with THIS.

Yup, Varg has named is band Burzum, which means "The Dark" in Black Speech.

Behemoth is a plateau in Mordor
The band Blind Guardian has a full-lenght album named Nightfall in Middle-Earth.
Balrog is a demon that lives in the mines of Moria

There is a thousand more bands with lyrics or names about Tolkien's work.

Btw, I'd like to get some good recommandations of bands with Tolkien lyrical themes, plus... I'd like Blind Guardian fans to tell me where I should start with this band. Thx !!!

Well, there's Lothloryen and Dünedain. Pretty good Power Metal bands with LOTR themed lyrics.

It's really spelled "Lothlorien" and "Dúnedain" in the books, but I'm sure that won't bother you too much. Also, Dünedain sing in Spanish.

As for Blind Guardian, you're pretty much okay starting anywhere. All their albums are pretty good.

Behemoth is the name of an extremely large and powerful beast that only God can tame, mentioned along with Leviathan in the book of Job. So no, not really a LOTR reference there.

It really sucks to see their standards. A friend of mine commented today on how sickening it is for scene kids to get a relationship easily while we struggle to get someone.

At 12/29/10 01:38 AM, Gobblemeister wrote: I used to watch that just to see boobs

Oddly enough, I never noticed them as a kid. However, I suppose it's a good thing since those harpy breasts... Nasty.

Speaking of which, I bought this album at HMV today for a birthday present for someone I know. He's turning 50 tomorrow and he's asked everyone to give him a CD of any choice regardless of genre. Quite a scary thing to ask since he could be given someone he utterly despises. If I asked people to do a similar thing, what are the odds of getting a Slipknot CD?

At 12/29/10 07:03 AM, Centurion-Ryan wrote: As for Blind Guardian, you're pretty much okay starting anywhere. All their albums are pretty good.

As much as I love all their albums (even A Twist in the Myth), I don't think throwing new listeners with a random album is a good idea. Battalions of Fear isn't a typical Blind Guardian album while A Twist in the Myth is their weakest effort which might not grab the attention of new listeners very well.

Most girls are whores nowadays. It's better to look for a match. But alotta times they dont live in your state or some shit. That's why you just wait and let them come to you. Online seems to work out well at least for me it did lol.
