No, lol.

Oh, ok. Sorry about that. I just heard it from a couple of friends who like Paramore and they were all discussing the break up.

I totally get what your saying and don't disagree. However, if you do recognize someone as a troll, the best a community can do to deal with it is to ignore it. Completely.
You can't physically stop him from posting in a thread, member or not. Unless he begins to legitimately break rules, it only stops him from posting anywhere from an x-amount of time anyway.

As annoying as it may be, if you really think he is posting all this to sit back and laugh at everyone start to flipping virtual tables, it's the only way to also effectively combat it.
If it is just a member stating a strong opinion that comes out controversial, sure it is completely different, and arguments are natural here. But I think everyone should be able to recognize the difference, and be grown up enough to have the will power to control themselves when presented with the obvious.

I'm not ready to go as far as banning Dalnaki from the Metal Hell. I'm tired of his constant attacks and insults towards fellow members of the Metal Hell.

We won't tell you to stop posting Dalnaki, but we ask you to stop pushing people around for not apparent reason. If you have anything to say, regarding the opinions or tastes of other members, I will ask that you do this properly, and some kind of respect. You are free to speak your mind. But if you are going to do so, try to bring something to the table, and explain your thoughts on the subject, and avoid bold statements, filled with insults.

Gotta start discussing music again :P

I just got myself a few albums to listen to:

Mafia EP by Fleshgod Apocalypse
Happy Songs For Happy People by Mogwai
The Spear of the Lily is Aureoled by Sculptured
Norrøn Livskunst by Solefald
and
Amerijuanian by Bongzilla

I guess I will be quite busy for the next few days :)

I apologize for my douchebaggery, this isn't the first time I've caused a big fuss, and for that, I'm sorry. But. TheDaemonicPoet goes too far. Me? Not a fan of metal? Because I subscribe to elitism? I think I can see where he's going with this, that a metal fan should love all metal. But that is ridiculous, because some metal is objectively inferior. Besides, I'm not a troll. I've been posting here for months, and I vaguely remember joining the Metal Hell a few years back. Well. I think I did. I may be thinking of a different club, terrible memory, etc. Besides, I never claimed to know everything. The more metal bands I discover, the clearer it comes to me that it would be pretty much impossible for one person to know everything about metal himself. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop searching for new bands, though. There's nothing like the feeling of discovering a great band, and then sharing it with people. Not to mention, when people ask me for recommendations, I give them. Regardless of what I think of that person's favorite bands.

Besides, not to mention that I've been listening to metal since I was 12.

Ah, shit. I hadn't even thought of that. I just thought everyone was putting vocalists from their favorite bands on the lists.

I don't think banning Dalnaki would ever make this place any better.

You sir, have a good knowledge of metal and it's dark corners. Whenever someone feels like listenning to some more underground bands, he knows he can turn to you.

I won't try to convince you that there is no better Metal. I, myself think that artistic value cannot be found in every song or band I come across. However, artistic value can be found in every metal genre. I couldn't find myself saying Power Metal is inferior to Thrash Metal or anything like that.

Being who I am... I couldn't say that music is a hundred percent about objective artistic value or... a hundred percent about subjective tastes. I would say it's pretty much 50-50. To me, there is quality, and there is personnal tastes. These two, matched together, makes up the individuals we are, with our own personnal favorites.

Btw, from the list I've posted earlier, I'ves already checked out Bongzilla, Sculptured and Fleshgod Apocalypse albums and they are all great. The biggest surprise was Sculptured. I thought I wouldn't like it. But it's pretty good. I'd describe it as a mix of Progressive Melodic Death Metal, with some Experimental and Atmospheric parts (thanks to John Haughm :P). I like it. Anyone who isn't a complete hater of Melodeath should check them out.

Lot of things. Almost done with school :) I'll have much more time to give to Metal now :)
Gotta get my hands on Mafia EP by Fleshgod Apocalypse, and get to know the band Solefald, since everybody is talking about them !!

Fuck yeah Mafia is ridiculously good! Abyssal is an especially awesome song :D Solefald are great too I remember Sensey recommending them to me ages ago.

Newest Agalloch is great btw, you should definitely check them out. Looking at your charts, I see their is toooooo little Blood Red Throne in there. Gotta work on this bro :)

I should probably give BRT's discog a spin through sometime it's been a while.

Recently discovered Animals As Leaders, pretty much in love with it.

Agreed. All those songs rock, there's not really a single song on there that I don't enjoy, but I think Abyssal might take the prize of being the best Fleshgod Apocalypse song.

If you're getting into Symphony X, I suggest picking up The Odyssey or Divine Wings of Tragedy. Those are probably (IMO, of course) their two best albums. Odyssey is a bit heavier and more "metal," and DWoT is more proggy, but both are fantastic albums.

I'm happy to give him another chance. If he can improve with his behaviour, he's more than welcome to stick around. We've had some bad users here who were warned about being kicked out and eventually turned for the better. I'm sure Dalnaki can do the same thing.

At 12/20/10 12:49 AM, Dalnaki wrote: that a metal fan should love all metal

I don't think any of us is expecting you to enjoy everything in metal. The most we ask for is a respective opinion on others. If you don't like a particular kind of metal, just leave it be. There are some genres of metal I'm not into right now but I don't think they suck. If anything, I might enjoy them a lot somewhere down the road.

I never concluded a metal fan should love all Metal. Because if I really thought that I wouldn't be a metal fan. How did you come up with that?

Also, and I'm repeating myself, you're annoying because you keep telling us that our knowledge in Metal is inferior to yours but you never explain why. And that makes you a dispensable member to the Hell, in my opinion. I don't care if you know more about Metal than me or any member in the Hell, but if you do, prove it. The topic was "Best voices in Metal", if you know enough about Metal to make a venerable list, just do it!

Love it to death, first song I heard by them was Deathmask Divine around 3/4 years ago and I've been hooked on them since, love all of their stuff, even their hilarious demo songs :)

Necropolis is a bit more technical thanks to their new geetarist, but I still think Miasma and Unhallowed are sexy as well.

I've had this EP for a while too, I love how absurdly fast the drums are. Abyssal is amazing, I really like their cover of Blinded by Fear, making the drums twice as fast as At the Gates' version.

Now this rant has a point :)

I bought Soulside Journey when I was 13 (About 4 and a half years ago) and it's absolute blandness, repetitiveness, and sub-quality has made me cringe at everything that sounds like it, all melodeath, all emocore, all those bands (Assuming we're in drop C like an emo) that fucking play a C, G sharp, A sharp progression or a variation of the three chords in every god damn fucking riff in every god damn fucking song.

Before chugging C for a breakdown and making me want to pop a cap in my face.

This is why most famous teen idol metalcore giants only have 3 or less albums/EPs. Because their songs are TOO DAMN SIMILAR.

I'm talking about BMTH and Amity Affliction and shitty bands like that, but they were all descended from At the Gates' Soulside Journey album.

Soulside Journey was almost complete filler. But Blinded by Fear's main riff is catchy as all hell.

So by covering a song by a shit band and making the song 10 times better, I fucking love Fleshgod Apocalypse.

TLDR:

Fleshgod Apoclypse made a shit song 10 times better, that's fucking cool.

Also, can't stop listening to the hilariously good new Solefald :)
