Really, sadistic magician? I mean when you listen to the lyrics of that song its like watching a bad episode of law and order.

They do this amazing thing that so many other bands forget to do, called 'have fun', so their songs, lyrics and album covers are random and amusing :)

But of course there is always a chance that I have just not listened to one of their good songs. Ive never really sought them out to give them a chance.

I fuckin love Municipal Waste, so here you go, give these songs a listen.

Knife Fight
Blood Hunger
Deathripper
Abusement Park
The Art Of Partying
The Inebriator
Open Your Mind
Masked By Delirium
Massive Aggressive
Wolves Of Chernobyl
Wrong Answer

There you go, songs from each album, bear in mind earlier songs are more Crossover Thrash, so much more raw when compared to stuff from TAoP or MA.

You're welcome :)

I love metal like crackheads love anal. and crack.

I found this progressive metal band called Into Eternity. They have a little bit of power metal, death metal, and black metal and swirl it together in this great mix. I suggest checking them out.

I love Municipal Waste, they dont write lyrics with some deep meaning if that's what your looking for.

I'm not a huge fan of the song Sadistic Magician either so I agree with you there, but if your gonna give them more of a shot listen to Beer Pressure or The Art Of Partying

Also they were fun as hell to see live.

All Municipal Waste is good. Except Sadistic Magician. Listen to anything and everything off of Hazardous Mutation and you're sweet. They sort of tried taking it somewhere different on their new album, so I'd keep that in mind when listening to it. Other than that, Hazardous Mutation and Art Of Partying are full of awesome.

Alestorm aren't that good anyway.

That's my view on Amon Amarth.

I noticed you seem more fixated on the fans of these bands than the actual music,

Not really, but they bring a band down even further. I legitimately hate the fact I love Dream Theater because their fans suck so much.

I understand that maybe where you live everyone might be a faggot scenekid trend-hopper, but luckily where I live there is a good metal scene going on. It's awesome to see people wearing Anvil and Suicidal Tendancies shirts and the jean jackets with patches of Municipal Waste and Black Sabbath on :)

There's a good metal scene here as well, it's just that there's also a way bigger poser fanbase here.

All those kids that like metalcore/deathcore/screamo? Yeah most of them also enjoy In Flames, At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, Scar Symmetry, Soilwork and of course, Children Of Bodom.

In fact, i've met WAAAAAAY more corekids that like those bands than TRUE metalheads.

They're melodic death metal, but unlike all the shittie bands we've been talking about, they're actually good and their fanbase isn't ENTIRELY posers.

No... It's not the way it works. Someone who's good at what he does is a hundred times better if he's humble. Being a pretentious and over-confident is not something you should aim for. Usually, people who are over-confident, will take a big drop whenever they face defeat or difficulties in their lives, because they cannot accept that they are not that awesome. Someone who knows his own weaknesses and how to get better, is always a way better artist (or whatever you like) than the pretentious asshole. Ali was good, but it's not all arrogant guys who do well in life. You just mentionned one example.

Is it wrong for me to enjoy Amon Amarth's latest album? Maybe it's their most accessible album but even so, I thought it was still a great album.

In other news, Motörhead's show is tonight and I cannot wait any longer. I just need to get through work first and then I can go and enjoy Lemmy rocking out on stage.

Not really, but they bring a band down even further. I legitimately hate the fact I love Dream Theater because their fans suck so much.

You are! Right after saying you're not you mention the fans again. Just because a band has a mostly shitty fanbase it doesn't mean the band sucks, hell most of the scenekids only find out about proper metal bands because of MySpace, listen to 2 songs then declare their love for them. Leave 'em to it, they wouldn't know good metal if it reached up and tore their bollocks off.

I've only heard songs by most of those bands because of related videos in Youtube, it happens to everyone, and I have a broad taste in music so I don't really care if a band has a 'metalcore sounding name' and give it a listen regardless. Along with pretty much everyone else who watches a video of a band they like, gets curious about the related videos, and ends up liking a new band. It's not always because they're posers and want to pretend to have good taste in metal, regardless of how they look, I mean I wear random band shirts (iwrestledabearonce, All That Remains, CoB etc.) and basically have an emo fringe, but am a huge metalhead.

Yeah, those guys. I've read in various places they had slated an album for release third quarter 2010 or something... Good chance it was delayed though, which would explain why they re-released Retribution... Oh well.

In other news, if y'all didn't already know, Sotajumala's latest album Kuolemanpalvelus is ill. Seems to me that these guys just keep getting better. They've also done mostly away with the studio dual-vocals, which will add a lot to their shows I think because they only have the one vocalist, and at live shows he would stop in the middle of a lyric in his growl and jump up to his scream, then back down.

Also, Soulfly on the 30th, and Blind Guardian December 12th.
:I'm psyched to finally go to a GOOD show.

So stating that it's the best metal band in the world would be a mistake. I know you guys think I'm just trying to mess around. But there is a difference between saying they are the best band in the world and they are my favorite band in the world. So what Necrobutcher basically said is "I love myself, I am a very narcissistic person and I think my band and our own creative work is way better than anything else that was done in the genre." If that isn't stupid.

I understand why you guys are getting tired of these kind of comments. Yup, I was being a bitch... argumenting semantics all the time. But now that this statement was made by someone you don't know personaly, how can you tell if he was saying it like an "In My Opinion" statement? Maybe the guy really thinks that they are "truly" the best metal band in the world.

At 11/16/10 09:53 AM, Dalnaki wrote: So you're basically a scene kid who is also a metalhead? Good for you. That doesn't redeem you, though. You're still a scene kid.

Regardless of the look, some people really are into both musicl genres. You see, I was having an argument with that kid on last.fm. I suggest you go see his charts

While the top 100 bands are mostly shits like Despised Icon, Attack Attack!, Horse The Band, Born Of Osiris and A Day To Remember. If you scroll down, you will eventually come across bands like Fleshgod Apocalyspe, Helloween, Enslaved, Gojira, Atheist, Death, Yngwie Malmsteen, Necrophagist, Ensiferum, Opeth, Megadeth and Suffocation. And now with a lame two or three plays. All the metal bands I have listed have 90 to 170 plays on the kids charts. So it means that he didn't listen through one album once and than threw it to the garbage. The kid really does like these Metal bands. he just happens to like the shitty bands better...

My point is, that you can really enjoy both genres. And if you do, you shouldn't be dissed and threated like a scene kid... IMO :P
