This is why I look at this topic. You guys always find awesome bands to listen to :3

Well... Hi everyone! These are my favourites bands. (I like a lot more, but these are the bands that I can remenber right now)

1. Rammstein.
2. Metallica.
3. Megadeth.
4. Iron Maiden.
5. Judas Priest.
6. Anthrax.
7. Korn.
8. Kreator.
9. Opeth.
10. Limp Bizkit.

I went this year to the concert of Metallica and Megadeth. Was so fucking good. I think that I can go in november to Anthrax and Limp Bizkit. (Here in Venezuela)

I love you guys, METAL 4EVER!

What the flying fuck are these two bands doing at the same show?!

Let's go easy on the newcomers.

Dalp, while we appreciate your application for the Metal Hell, we will let you know right now that we have different standards for heavy metal. Nu-metal bands such as Korn and Limp Bizkit aren't accepted here. However, considering the other seven bands you've listed (Rammstein is also a no), I'm sure a horseman will accept you. I'm not a horseman, though so you'll have to wait until one of them (i.e. batman64, Idiosyncratic and Sense-Offender) has time to catch up on this thread and respond to your application.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about two separate shows.

Out of curiosity, what is everyone's favorite metal sub-genre? Mine's progressive metal. So, anyone else?

Of course man. Music is like sex, except it's there whenever you want it. I'm happy to be back to this topic.

I personally prefer death metal. Of course, just the majority of the time. At times one subgenre can sound amazingly better than the other, such as black metal or thrash metal, depending on my mood.

It would have to be traditional/classic metal. I find myself listening to bands from that genre the most. I wish to have a balanced interest in metal but I do have much more power metal albums than I have doom metal.

I like the fairy princess bullshit also, just not anywhere nearly as much.

Nah not really.

Night On Broken - Iron Maiden Worship
The Spectre Within - awesome oldschool power metal
Awaken The Guardian - a more boring, less inspired carbon copy of the previous album

The only one of those three I think it's amazing is the spectre within. I still think the other two albums are decent though.

What genre is Agalloch? Cause that's definitely what I like the most in metal. No matter what the genre is, I like Atmospheric Metal (Atmospheric Black Metal, Atmospheric Black/Folk Metal, Atmospheric Folk Metal) Everything that is progressive, atmospheric, dark and somewhat avant-garde or experimental.

Otherwise Black Metal, Death Metal, Progressive Metal and Power Metal are amongs my favorite genres.

Stoner metal and thrash right now.

I've yet to hear power metal that doesn't sound fairy princessy.

My favorite sub genre is stoner. Sludge is awesome, especially stoner/sludge. Doom is great, when it smokes weed and gets high. Doom metal needs that stoner injection, before it's truly classy.

Axis of Advance are crazy shit, I like.

Electric Wizard have a new album coming out soon, let us know when it leaks guys ;) should be soon.

My girlfriend broke up with me, got a new boyfriend, and last night she came over and I bonked her silly.

So last night I fucked another guy's girlfriend, IN THE ASS. And came all over her tits.

I WAS ALSO HIGH.

It was metal.

You now envy me completely for beng so badass.

Night On Broken - Iron Maiden Worship

I'm still wondering how bad the album really is to some. If it's got a strong Maiden/Priest-vibe, I get the feeling I'll enjoy it.

The Spectre Within - awesome oldschool power metal

Of course.

Awaken The Guardian - a more boring, less inspired carbon copy of the previous album

I wouldn't say boring but it does take time to get into. I thought it wasn't great at first but with every listen I enjoy it more and more.

How about Kreator? No matter how popular these guys are, they're still underrated. They're just that fucking good.

In fact, Kreator is so much better live than in studio that I have trouble listening to their studio tracks when I have to. This is the only band I feel this way with.

Response to Metal Hell 2010-10-18 15:54:16

Thrash and Heavy Metal. Since we are talking about subgenres, I was wondering, if you guys can recommend me some bands of simphonic metal, I was listening Epica (I love this band) and I am a little new in that subgenre. I want to listen more. Thanks.

Ok, I didn't knew that the Nu Metal is not aloved here. Sorry. Anyway, that is no my forte.
