Something tells me out of all the albums you mentioned, I'll be getting Nordland I and II next. As for Octagon, I'm surprised you brought that album up since I've heard nothing but bad things about it. I think I'll put that album at the bottom of the list, especially when there isn't even a slightest chance of any of those songs played at Heidenfest. They have various Melodic Metal riffs and are somewhat influenced by NWOBHM bands like Iron Maiden. You could easily find these influences in their music if you tried to stay open-minded.

So I would consider BFMV to be Metal. That still doesn't mean you should like them. And I still think that if someone joins this crew will a list like this one:

All That Remains
BFMV
All Shall Perish

and so on... we should just let him in. While these bands are as Metal as Metalcore will ever get, we should still try to get him into other forms of Metal before letting him in.
