Most of the bands you listed are hardcore or metalcore. Elitists will tell you they aren't metal, but I'd be inclined to disagree.

Nah. Hardcore is definitely not metal (but rather a variation of Punk) and metalcore is usually Hardcore tinged with metal, which is still not metal. Not to impugne the nature of these bands, but they're simply not metal.
