Official page of the Viking metal band. Includes a biography, news, show dates and photos. I don't care if they are melodeath, They don't sound like most other melodeath bands out there. They will forever be viking as all hell.
They are melodeath and viking metal has never been a genre. Neither are pirate metal or pagan metal.

Yeah whatever.
I don't ear a lot about Bathory here :O
So... Blood Fire Death... what do you think?
I like Bathory, but he seemed to mess up often when he sang. ever heard the Nordland albums? They're good, but the vocals are kinda fucked up sometimes.

Better even than Blackwater Park?
That's progressive metal with death metal influences.

Blackwater Park definitely is NOT their weakest album.
1.) Still Life
2.) Deliverance
3.) MAYH
4.) Orchid
5.) Watershed
6.) Damnation
7.) Morning Rise
8.) Ghost Reveries
9.) BLACKWATER PARK

I have to disagree and say Progressive Extreme Metal, but I would say Opeth is a genre of music itself.
I've heard this term extreme metal a lot before, especially for bands that are very heavy and have aggressive vocals but are not quite clearly death or black or whatever, and I gotta say, there's no way it's a legitimate genre. It's another false term like "dark metal" and such.
