Why not? It would've been a nice experiance.

No way, it's reasons like this why I want to avoid Xbox Live like the plague.

Length of hair means nothing to me. Having short hair or baldness doesn't make anyone less metal. Infact, I'd say baldness can make you more metal looking. :P Come to think about it, I don't judge whether people are real fans of metal or not by appearance, I go by what they know.

Great new bands to listen to:

Arckanum

Good old school folky black metal.

Brilliant black metal/doom drone stuff.

You must listen to Daemonarch. It's Fernando Ribeiro's, and other three members from Moonspell, side project. Mike, the drummer, doesn't make part of the project, so the drums are synthesized.
It's fucking great!

When they're bald I think it comes down to other sizes and what not. like if some guy if scrawny and in his 50's I think it's just sad. However if you have the Kerry King deal going on, I think they're pretty fucking metal.

Also Beards are where it's at.

haha! You'll become a nazi!
joking. hope it works for the ponytail.
---

I just bought 2 cds today. I really liked them so I thought I'd tell you guys about them.

Peste Noire -Ballade Cuntre lo Anemi Francor
Nationalistic Black Metal - France
Now before you think P.N. are a nazi band, nationalistic black metal ISN'T nsbm, isn't nazi, it's nationalistic! It goes with the traditions and culture of their country. It is clearly stated in the album that they're not to be associated with nazism or shit in any way.

Great album! Doesn't sound exactly like P.N. used to, but is kind of special. The guitars seems to be distorted acoustics, but still raw. Kind of epic in away... I really like the riffs, I've never heard anything that sounds like that.
I don't regret buying it, I think it's awesome, but you might not. If you plan on buying any of Peste Noire's album, it's better that you give them a listen first.
Sample: La mesniee mordrissoire

A Forest of Stars - Opportunistic Thieves of Spring
Psychedelic Black Metal - UK

Now this band is fucking weird. First band I see tagged as "psychedelic black metal". But it is! In fact, A Forest of Stars is their gentleman club's name, they don't date their stuff in 2010, but in 1890 (1889 instead of 2009, etc). Anyway, it is a great album, if you ask me. It has some piano, violin and flutes parts, sometime mixed with their black metal parts, sometime not. The album has 6 songs, and is l over 1 hour length of music. Of course it has some more silent parts, with just 1 or 2 instruments playing, but then other instruments come in and all. The lyrics are really weird, too.
I thought it was really great and is worth giving it a try.

You can't say Dream Theater is boring... And don't judge a band by their worst material, go with the best. Images And Words is definitely an awesome album.

1.) Symphony X is old news, but still awesome. <3
2.) Dream Theater are awesome....or at least, 90's dream theater is awesome.

I listenned to a lot of Gorod lately and I'm happy to say that they really made it into my top 5 death metal bands :)

Origin
Gorod
Blood Red Throne
Benighted
Death (even if I also just got into their work, I think it's amazing)

Didn't put Blotted Science up there as it sounds more like Technical/Progressive Metal than actual Death Metal, even if there are lot of Death Metal influences in their work. Still had to put their name somewhere in this post :)

I've heard of Blotted Science, who are they? And what type of music do they play? I saw that you said that they were progressive with death metal influence, but can I have more specifics?

Anything more specific would be a little sample of their music, my son.
They really are just like what I described, Technical Prog Metal with Death Metal influences.

I think that Synaptic Plasticity would be one of their tracks on which you can find the most Death Metal influences.
Laser Lobotomy is the first track that really got me into their music.

Still... all the tracks on the album are worth it. The Machinations Of Dementia is one of my favorite albums ever. Ron Jarzombeck is the guitarist of the band and probably the best guitarist ever :)

When I think of bald metal stars, I think of Rob Halford, Kerry King as you stated, Scott Ian and Frode Glesnes from Einherjer who puts baldness on a whole new level of metal. Speaking of Einherjer, my sister purchased Blot last week and arrived through the post today. Good stuff, although the track listing seems hard to follow. I dunno, really.

You seem to be more fascinated at the newer look of Helloween than I am. There's a few recent pictures of them that makes them feel out of place to the music they're playing. Here's one example:

I guess it's because they were just starting, and metal was a fad back then where being cheesy was cool, plus, they were tending towards death metal, so, I guess, they just didn't find their style at that time yet.

They looked a lot happier on the Kiske era though.

I've been listening to a bit of Manticora.

They remind me of Dream Theater, in that I can't bring myself to say that they're bad, because they're all great musicians, but on the other hand, their music sounds uninspired.
