Just found a new band, Morbid. Anyone else listen to them?
Which Morbid? There are a dozen bands with that name.
Talking about that...
I still don't get why... a lot of new bands go for the most unoriginal and stereotypical band names...
I mean, you want to make a black metal band... I really suggest that you do not name your band "Dark Forest". It's obvious that there is already one band (or a fucking thousand bands) named that way...
In fact, if you are going to name your metal band... Dark "something", you better fucking double check if there is not already a band named that way...
A few examples taken from Metal Archives...
Dark Age (6 bands)
Dark Ages (8 bands)
Dark Angel (2)
Dark Autumn (3)
Dark Dream (2)
Dark Earth (3)
Dark Eden (5)
Dark Embrace (5)
Dark Forest (5)
Dark Horizon (3)
This one as nothing to do with the list but... Dark White...
Non-sense is always epic :)
Anything with the word dark of darkness is already probably taken, so how can 5 guys, sitting around a table trying to find a name for their band could end up thinking that they would be the most original and awesome band if they would call themselves Eternal Darkness (8 bands)?
I mean, how could you guys? Please...
Anyway.. other shits like
Lightning
Moonlight...
and other fucking obvious shits...
Most important is that the image you will give to people is that you cannot even find an original name to your band. I know we should not judge artists so quick, but first thing I think when I see such a stereotypical name for a band... is that if they couldn't even find enough creativity to find an original name, how could they write original music? I always expect generic black metal music when someone tells me to listen to a band named Eternal Darkness of Dark Forest. I really think that picking a name like this is not the best way to make a good impression on listeners...
