Umm..

Anyway, The Hunchback of Notre Doooooooooom

I can't believe I didn't catch any news of this having come out last year.

I loved that album, I rated it my 2nd favorite album of 2009! It was pretty awesome, especially the Planet of the Apes song cycle.

If anyone knows a band similar to Kataklysm, let me know now.

I suggest:
Insomnium
Amon Amarth
Wintersun
Vader

Yeah, that's not really true.

Could you bring some kind constructive elements to this post? I mean, I don't know that much about post-rock, but the post-rock music I know is somewhat like that.

So if you think it's not true, could you explain why.

lol, great recommendations, but he knows all those bands.

I guess he should have posted what he already listens to.

Every post-rock band is pretty different, so you can't make sweeping generalizations like that.

For example, compare Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Sigur Rós, and you'll see what I mean. All are post-rock, and you can see the similarities, but they're all very different, and very un-metal.

Before I forget, Duff, I'll mention now that you'll find that a lot of post-rock bands could be described as "ambient rock" or something similar. Also, If you want more suggestions, I've got a few more post-rock bands I like that I could recommend.

Post-rock is a genre I've barely looked into.

Hey guys, has anybody heard the new BURZUM album BELUS yet?

I'm surprised because I really like it! There are two songs on this which totally rule, and the overall standard is quite high. I have never been a great Burzum fan, but this one really has awesome melodies, Varg's vocals are a lot less annoying than before and the bassy production fits the album quite well.

Especially track three and four (including the intro) got onto me quite fast.

The man still has it, I say.

What do you say?

My favorite Kalmah album is Swampsong. It's the most agressive of their albums. This is their best album for the guitar parts. The lead and rythms are just fitting perfectly together.
From Swampsong you should definitely check out Heroes To Us, Cloned Insanity, Tordah, Doubtful About It All, Moon Of My Nights, "The Third, The Magical" and Man With Mystery.
They Will Return is a lot more melodic and as a lot more keyboards. You should check out The Blind Leader, Hollow Heart, They Will Return and Swamphell.
From the album Swamplord, listen to Evil In You, Hades, Withering Away.

I don't really know their most recent albums, but I think they are not as good as their first. Still, you should give a try to The Black Waltz and For The Revolution, especially for tracks like Man Of The King, Towards The Sky, The Holy Symphony Of War and For The Revolution.

Btw guys.

Everybody knows Ron Jazombek is the best guitarist in the world (this statement is a fact btw)
My question is: Which of all of his projects is the best? I already own a copy of Blotted Science's debut and only album. And I have the two albums of Spastic Ink. But what about Watchtower and his solo project?

Spastic Ink.
I've not listened to Watchtower or his solo project. But nothing can be better than Ink Complete.

You could ask for examples next time.

After Forever's first three albums are prime examples of good female singers in metal.

I could recommend you stuff like Epica and Nightwish or stuff like Arch Enemy and Luna Mortis but there are people who hate both those styles of bands.

I'd recommend Gonin-Ish way more though. Pissed off screechy Japanese Death Metal vocals works way more than your Arch Enemy man-wannabe style.
