Is there ever going to be a valid reason? All music is subjective, it just happens most of us don't like Pantera.
Why they're shit: Phil Anselmo's vocals and lyrics. He's a cockend and all that macho 'RAWR FUCKING POWER GRRR' stuff just turns me off.

To me, Pantera was good on their older albums (Projects in the jungle, Power Metal) It was a lot more traditional heavy. Cowboys from Hell was nice to hear once in a while, but after that...it just sounds like shit...I mean, that song "Walk" it's the same thing over and over again, hoe can people like that? :S

You listened to them? They're really great. I've mostly been listening to the album "Thrash Metal" a couple tracks being Let Blood Rain and Evil Unleashed.

I know you mean though, I thought At the Gates was core when I heard the name, until I actually heard them. I've learned that you can't tell by the name.

Anddd I realize it's already been said. Oh well. I want to see te little twat put up an arguement of how Pantera back in the glam/hair metal days was any more metal than Nile back in the day, or any other death metal band better suited to be "compared" back in that era.

Also I'd just like to add that I was given a burnt copy of Panteras best of, and like everyone else, the first 5 times it was ok to listen to, then it just got bland.
