More like StudioForce if you know what I mean. It is a lot better than hair metal, you're correct. God, I remember when I first started to get into music and listened to that 80's shit nonstop. It's embarrassing to even admit I worshipped Twisted Sister, Winger, Warrant, Night Ranger, and even more awful bands.

Any Death, Porcupine Tree, Jaco Pastorius, The Aquabats, or Sleep material has awesome bass lines.

are you taking any lessons for bass? lessons are not only a great way to learn how to play your instrument but also to get a lot of music.

I thought about starting to get used to the instrument first. Playing a lot alone and sometimes with a good friend of mine who also plays bass. He's been teaching me a few good things.

I know that when I'll be a little better, I'll take lessons. I just think it costs a lot of money for nothing when you take lessons to learn the basics of the basics :P

Classic rock and blues usually has good but easy bass lines, and The Aquabats basslines really aren't all that hard. Pool Party and Pizza Day are a sinch, and Jaco's The Chicken is simple too, minus the intro.

I have recently listened to a lot of Black Sabbath recently, and what do you guys think is the quintessential Sabbath song. In my opinion it is Black Sabbath. It has everything Sabbath requires, slow, creepy riffs; occult theme; insane, depressed vocals; pretty awesome drum pary; and amazing guitar solo. Who agrees/wants to put forth their own suggestion?

To represent Black Sabbath, that song is indeed the very one. However, if we're talking about any favourites here then mine has to be Children of the Grave. One of the finest riffs of all time.

And I just need one fucking reason... That guy need ten which are just, classic reasons of one guy who don't understand art, also just two of the reasons he said about why he hate metal were related with Metal music and it's just stereotypes: screams and grunts... that's art you must have skills to do it or you'll fuck your voice up and not all bands do that, also talking about dragons and fairies, what the fuck? Why that must be hated, it's pure and sensitive art, Dragons and fairies, and there is a lot of other themes, between them sex...

I totally agree with you. Children of the Grave is my absolute favorite Sabbath song ever, but I just think that Black Sabbath represents everything that makes them amazing. Plus if any other band tried to do Black Sabbath, it just wouldn't be the same.

I used to have a pair of them until I stood on them after leaving them on a floor in a depressing moment one night.
They're alright but I found them to be a bit tight on my head. I replaced them with these, which are better in my opinion:
