Ambient music will only benefit from being played live. As that ambience will be much louder and richer around you.

Whale noises are ambient, but it'd be way better in person.
Like Dent said, pretty much everything is better live... except DragonForce.

I don't get your point? I was dissing Deathcore, not Metalcore or Nu-Metal.
Also, if you paid attention I said that I checked out Chocolate Starfish for nostalgia and then said that it was actually a terrible album that even fond memories couldn't save.
It's no Hybrid Theory :P.

It's true. When I hear a sound downstairs or something I don't think 'Ooh that sounds like it could be lots of money and chocolate and pretty wimmins masturbating'. I think 'Shit, that could be someone with a knife'.
I don't fear the unknown, I fear that the unknown may result in me dying.

(also haven't posted in quite a long time)

Haven't posted in a while either, but I quite enjoy this logo. The reason: It may not be the hardest to read, but there is a sort of elegance in its simplicity. I just always loved it.

Well yeah, that's what I was getting at. Survival = not dying. Pain is a survival mechanism to protect you from dying.

And other than this, a good reason why you fear pain is because of your nerves. If I could in a very magical way, make you invincible, but that you could still feel pain, you wouldn't try jumping down a 4 story building, only cause you the pain would be horrible.

Yes, but that's irrelevant, because pain and death aren't mutually exclusive.

Let's imagine a world that would be exactly like ours, but in which you would know what happens after your death. Death, depending on what the afterlife would be, would become less frightening.
To make the explanation a little more simple, let's just say that...
Death is a concept that includes other concepts, one of them being "The Unknown". Death itself isn't that frightening without the concept of the unknown.

So em, I'm right, but you are still right two...

To make the explanation a little more simple, Death is a fucking sweet name for a metal band.

I quite like their name, considering all the political bashing sort of stuff Mustaine has going, Megadeth is a play on words, i.e 'Megadeath' - Military talk for over 1 million deaths.

for those who didn't know.

I mostly just dislike the misspelling of "death." It makes Dave seem like he's trying to be edgy in the same way Korn and Staind are (i know he's not but it's just a mental association i have). and before i knew about "megadeath," it seems like just a silly name that someone could come up with at the age of like 11, and i'm sure that people who are unfamiliar with the term feel the same way.

i dunno, megadeth is still good though.

so yeah, listening to pelican

really good shit. i know we talked about them like months ago, but seriously, this is really good. i always thought that post-metal was a sort of bullshit label (and it sort of is, regardless), but this seriously sounds exactly like what post-metal should sound like; post-rock but heavier.

I can count around 15 bands from that list that i like.
The rest are typical generic thrash bands, with conveyor belt riffs and boring lyrics.

Avenged Sevenfold are metal.
Yes, I'm aware some bands on there don't fit the Metal genre, but some do, and I think it's pretty cool anyway.
