Well, I don't live on the east coast, but you could always buy my new full length, In The Winter Lies The Warmth, 2 discs and 140 minutes for only 18 dollars!

Nah, I'm doing that to make fun of myself. Don't worry about it, Goatchrist and TehGaySatanist, I'm just trying to make some munny. :P

I was making fun of myself, anyway. And at least I'm making money the honest way, not by preventing my songs from getting downloaded or overcharging.

On another note, my arms are fucking tired from doing a rendition of Funeral Fog for this Mayhem Tribute album I'm doing. I drummed it at the speed of "Buried by Time And Dust" and extended it for about 16 or 32 bars. (Read: another half a minute). Anybody feel like contributing a song or two?

I know you did :) and you don't sue 12 year olds for downloading.

Hmm, I'm thinking about it. I'm very busy with Shores of Sheol and my other band, but maybe I can find the time. It's not important from which album, is it?

hey i was meaning to join this club for a while but my favorite metal bands are (in no particular order)

Children of Bodom
Pantera
As I Lay Dying
Iced Earth
Metallica (before the black album)
Judas Priest
Ministry (not sure if it is industrial metal or just industrial)
Soilwork
Grave Digger
Dillinger Escape Plan
Type O Negative
Dimmu Borgir
Killswitch Engage
Darkest Hour
Hammerfall
Blind Guardian
Demons and Wizards

yeah thats pretty much it, but my favorite genres of metal is power, speed, and industrial with some thrash and metalcore not too much black though

Here I am, bored with everything.

Listen to Cannibal Corpse, which is death metal.

Now listen to Burzum, which is black metal.

Yes there is a difference. And when it said black/death metal it meant that some of their stuff was death metal, and some was black, or that they combined the two.

Not at all. So far, the songs I'm doing are:

Ghoul (from Pure Fucking Armaggeddon demo)
Necrolust or Deathcrush (do I even have to tell you what album those are from?)
Funeral Fog (DMDS)
Pagan Fears (Ditto)
Fall Of Seraphs (Wolf's Lair Abyss)
The View From Nihil (A Grand Declaration of War)

and that's about all I'm doing. :) The last two should prove to be fucking hard as hell.

Maybe somebody could do "Freezing Moon" or something like that.

What's the difference between Black Metal and Death Metal? I don't listen to either of them, so I wouldn't know.

Death Metal has mostly deep growls, downtuned guitars and lots of doublebass and blastbeats in the drum work. Listen to Morbid Angel or Immolation, for good examples.

Black Metal vocals are usually high-pitched and screamed. The guitars are highly distorted and keyboards are often used for haunting atmospheres. Listen to Gorgoroth, Immortal and Mayhem, for good examples.

and Ghoul, that sounds good so far, I'm thinking either of Deathcrush or Life Eternal. Not sure yet :)

You should try Anorexia Nervosa if you like Dimmu. They are IMO a lot better. Another great band to check would be Limbonic Art :)

Stormblast doesn't sound like the rest of Dimmu, Goatchrist. It sounds more subdued and beautiful and melodic and a fucking lot slower.

Grand Belials Keys - Judeobeast Assassination
Abyssos - Together We Summon The Dark
Immortal - Sons of Northern Darkness
Morte Incandescente - ...Your Funeral
Khold - Masterpiss of Pain
Darkthrone - Panzerfaust
Nokturnal Mortum - To the Gates of Blasphemous Fire
Marduk - World Funeral
That should do you for black metal ablums for a while....If you want something non-black metal and just plain cool, get Battlelore - Swords Song. I cant stop listening to it!

Okay, cool. I was contemplating whether or not to put Slipknot and AHC because not many people consider them metal.

although most say slip isnt metal, they are. they have all the same formula of a metal band. the problem is they suck terribly, and because they were masks tons of kids went "ooo coool thats to hardcore" and started listening to it thinking that there all the sudden hardcore metal heads when really they dont know shit.

but i guess its a matter of opinion.

Who do you think is more talented: Jon Donais from Shadows Fall or Matt Heafy from Trivium? It's a close one, but I think Donais is slightly better.
