Nev won't be pleased. My Arms, Your Hearse is a great album! Out of all the Opeth I've listened to so far, I rank it above Ghost Reveries and Morningrise. Still debating to myself which out of My Arms, Your Hearse and Still Life is better.

Ah fuck Nev. :P

1.) Sill Life
2.) Morning Rise
3.) Watershed
4.) Deliverance
5.) Damnation
6.) Ghost Reveries
7.) BlackWater Park
8.) Orchid
9.) My Arms, Your Hearse

All the albums are amazing except My Arms, in my opinion, but I still think it's a good album.

I'm mainly going for Dream Theater and Unexpect.

Nah, just kidding.

What are some songs Opeth has played every time? I honestly, don't remember much of what they played both times I saw them.

The Drapery Falls has been played maybe 4 times out of the 6. Demon of the Fall 5 out of 6.
Besides those two they tend to swap around quite a bit. I think I remember Grand Conjuration being played more than once... or perhaps Ghost of Perdition. I don't know those songs well enough to tell the difference.

I like Beyond Hell but I've never listened to their older stuff, which I believe can be quite Punky.

Looks like it's their last album, if so they are going out with a bang.

That sucks :(. I really want to see them live again. Fantastic shows.

Definately! You get blasted with dyed water for an hour or so. And you come away all tie-dyed.
And GWAR are just great... mix that with cartoonish displays of shitting, vomitting, pissing and beheadings and you've got a great night out :).

Did I mention that reggaeton is the worst genre of music ever?

It just sucks... it's lame music... made by lame artists for lame people...

And I don't remember who mentionned this, but I already know about Promordial and I think their stuff is very nice :)

Hey Ponos, I can't find Taake's Hordalands Doedskvad on torrents website. Any idea where I could get it?
Don't get me wrong, I still buy music, but I like to make sure I really like it before I buy it.

Talking about buying stuff !!!
I finally got myself a credit card and I'd like to know if any of guys bought t-shirts online. Cause I'd like to find a reliable website to get some nice shirts. So if you guys know any good spots, just tell me. But make sure not just to list me website, I want to make sure I can trust em before buying anything.

Honestly, I'd rather have Martin Lopez back than Peter Lindgren. That's not to say I don't want Peter back, but Martin would be my first choice.

Not really. There are other bands that have had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more line up changes than Opeth

I guess, but still, they've had a pretty stable line up since then. They had all the same members from My Arms, Your Hearse, all the way to Ghost Reveries. Which, especially for 6 albums, is pretty good.

Adding Per Wiberg doesn't count as a line up change, does he?

Also, I would say don't go to the Job For a Cowboy concert, especially not for $30. I got to see Opeth for less than that.

And most bands have line up changes early on. Loads of bands replace members when they get signed. It's not uncommon at all.

GWAR are way better than Opeth live though.

We got to 2000, Yippee.

Anyway, which one is the better melodic metal band? Insomnium or In Flames? I seem to be the only one of my friends who think Insomnium is better.

Response to Metal Hell 2009-09-15 21:03:40

In Flames hands down. In Flames is probably my favorite melodic death metal band, except now that I'm listening to Kataklysm, I'm not sure which one I like more. And does Meshuggah count as melodic death metal?

Kataklysm > In Flames > Insomnium

And no, Meshuggah are not MeloDeath.
For a start they're not Death Metal. They're Post-Thrash, Avant-Garde, Prog Metal (take your pick :P).
And secondly they're the antithesis of 'melodic'. It's atonal droney :).

In Flames? Cause you don't think they turned gaycore?
Well, they did record awesome stuff in the past, but now it's fucking over... except if they come out with something better on their next record... something I just doubt...

Anyway... better Melodic Death Metal?
Kalmah
Darkane
Nightrage
Scar Symmetry
Profugus Mortis
Soilwork
Wintersun

You know... better melodeath :P

EPICUREAN.

Jesus, even if they only have one album it's fucking amazing Melodeath shit.

Also, copy + paste of a post of mine from pages ago:

"In Flames claimed in a interview the other day that the albums Soundtrack To Your Escape Reroute To Remain Come Clarify and A Sense Of Purpose(The Chosen Pessimist is greeeeeeeeat) were all just the band "Experimenting with their style" and apparently they have a new album coming out Summer Next year called "Tastes Of Chaos" and they are saying it's supposed to be a masterpiece.

What do you think? I think it's a load of BS and will be horrible like their last album.

But they are also apparently playing a few songs of that album at each show of their world tour, so if you go and see them tell me what you think of the new songs."
