I am officially in Metal Hell.
Goatchrist approved of me, and so did some others. Don't worry, I'm not a bad user.

Oi >:C Im still here, smashing all their 'fuck you bush' albums out on the way to uni, and i do believe Bill is a fan too. And for the record although i've posted it many times before, new Ministry > Old (well, when i say that i mean everything from The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste and up is the good stuff).

That's the only Ministry I like, too.
Oh wait, I already expressed that already, lol.

Does anyone agree with me that Stoner is a fairly weak type of Doom?

no. I love stoner I think more than any other subsubgenre of doom.

I don't.
Im not a stoner, I don't think stoner would fit me much. :/
What would be some goods starters?
Im also looking to aquire some Naglfar cd's soon.

These two are awesome. I have Pentagram/Relentless, Be Forewarned, Psalm 9, and I think I have the Skull. And sHEAVY is pretty good, too.

You don't have to be a stoner to like stoner metal. I'm straight edge and stoner metal is my favorite subgenre of metal (arguably), and to quote sensey from ages past: "I loved stoner long before my first blunt."
What would be some goods starters?
Look at my list. Sleep and Electric Wizard are always great.
Sludge and downright depressing Doom are far better though :P.
At 6/4/09 10:32 PM, Nev wrote: Sludge and downright depressing Doom are far better though :P.
what about stoner sludge?
Why is it that when someone asks for stoner recs, I'm always the last one to notice and Bill and Carl always recommend the good ones before I do?
Anyway, for those who want some rude and raunchy grindcore in their lives, check out Blood Duster. They're a grindcore/stoner rock band from Australia that makes probably the most hilarious immature music I've ever heard.
Just go with it.
Here I am, bored with everything.

I don't dislike Stoner by any means.
I just think its weak as far as Doom goes. Also it doesn't feel like Doom to me, its not very miserable, is it?
Then again, as a huge Warning fan anything short of someone humming into my ears about how worthless I am isn't that depressing :P.
I'm going to take a leap here and say that Nev is right that stoner really isn't doomy. I think it deserves its own category more or less because it has more of an upbeat Sabbath influence. That's not to say that Doom and Stoner are incredibly and closely related, it's just that having Stoner as a subgenre of Doom is just too far fetched for it to work. Then again, a lot of Stoner overlaps with doom so that's why stoner has been lumped with doom for this long.
Here I am, bored with everything.

I CAN GIVE ADVICE TOO!
Rev. Bizzazzle (my pet name for them) is more or less Sabbath on steroids. Take that how you will, but I highly recommend them. Especially In the Rectory of Rev. Bizzazzle.

I don't recall saying this, but it is true.

I love sludge. All doom is good, though. traditional, funeral, etc. But I really love sludge and stoner stuff.

Reverend Bizarre is good, too.
Hey guys. I know they're not the most welcome band in here. But I love this song and decided make a cover of it.
If any of you can sing really high or know any girls who can sing I'd appreciate it if you can do the females singing. That'd be sweet.
Anyway, check out my latest song PWEASE? lol
When I die. It will be in a blaze of glory.
WELLLLLLLL, I grew up with the blues. It's embedded into me, it's my blood. The fact that stoner rock/metal/doom has this huge blues influence combined with heavy music is what turns me on, and regular/funeral doom tickles my fancy also, stoner doom is my preference. And Kyuss are pretty much the greatest band of all time :D
It's true what I'm telling, you get the best

Saw them in 07 when they supported Slayer. I have there album Cunt, which is almost Grindcore in every way haha.
They are awesome. 'Drink. Fight. Fuck.' is one of their best tracks to check out too.
This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.
