Since we're on the subject of Doom I'd like to request a list of downright Doomfilled Doomy Doom.
The kind of stuff that feels like depression, hate and angst. I want that!
I have some Stoner and Funeral. Love em both but yeah, I want the most depressing stuff ya got!
Anyway, thanks in advance.

I can't really decide which is better, Black Sails At Midnight has the awesome Keelhauled, but I also equally love Wenches And Mead from Captain Morgans Revenge.

Black Sails does have great tracks and I'm glad you mentioned Keelhauled as it's one of my favourites from that album as well, but I'm more fond with Captain Morgan's Revenge because of the tracks I originally heard on their Battleheart demos.

I second these definitely. And you should also check out Esoteric's album Subconscious Dissolution Into the Continuum. I think it's my favorite funeral doom metal album.

I'm not really into them, but they're definitely not bad at all. I really dig the solo in their song, Darkness. Or at least I think that's the name of the song. It was on the Crow soundtrack.

It's funny how Warning is the only one I've got that's just straight Doom without any other influence. I'm going to try and find more bands that lean toward traditional doom but also have sad themes.

I wrote all this twice and accidentally closed Firefox the first time :(.

Anyway, thanks in advance.

I'll second Idio's recommendation of Yearning as they're bleak and fucking amazing. I unfortunately only have Plaintive Scenes but its proper interesting stuff. I don't think Death Doom gets better than this.

I'll also second TakeNoPrisoners recommendation of Daylight Dies and they're nice and quite depressing :).

And then I'll say:

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! GET WARNING! WATCHING FROM A DISTANCE IS THE MOST DEPRESSING ALBUM EVER!

If you want depressing music then it doesn't get any better than this. It's certainly the most depressing album I've ever listened to and nothing in the genre of Metal even comes close. And very little in the world of non-Metal comes close either, even Radiohead's finest moments fall short.

Seriously, Watching from a Distance is brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant!
Its the album that got me into Doom.

Also as you want angsty music I'll recommend Dystopia. Basically just read what I put about Warning and change the band name to Dystopia. And change 'depressing' to 'pissed off'.
Its misanthrophy perfected. Every scream sounds so passionate that you'll want to become a government hating vegan just because its sooooo good.

Get 'The Aftermath' (the compliation version, theres an EP with the same name, the compliation version is basically that with a couple more EPs thrown in to make a full length). Every song after 'Backstabber' is a stand out.

And I don't want to sound arrogant but I honestly believe that the other recs you've gotten don't match up to these two bands in terms of what you asked for (except for Warning of course as TNP recommended them :P).

Seriously, I apologise, I sound like a twat.

Also, other angry(ish) bands:

Buried at Sea
Khanate
Lazarus Blackstar
Wormphlegm

I gave Warning a try once, but didn't look further into them. I know you and TnP both really like them. I'll check them out again.

Have you ever listened to Esoteric? I think Subconscious Dissolution Into the Contimuum has a very strong presence of doom, despair, hopelessness, etc. Listen to the song Morphia, if you can. It had a strong impression on me when I first heard it.

By looking further do you mean checking out other albums? Cause I don't really rate the Strength the Dream and thats the only other thing they've done.
TNP likes it I believe, but it just paled in comparison to Watching from a Distance for me.

I listened to an album on Spotify and didn't really care for it. I think it was SDitC too.
Death Doom doesn't really float my boat though. I prefer clean singing in Doom, or pissed off shouts.
Growls make it heavy, no doubt, but in terms of emotion I think it leaves me feeling alienated from it. Where as with cleaning singing and shouts you get the passion and emotion more.

I'll give Esoteric another listen though because I want to like them as the guitarist is at my uni or something like that.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

And no, when I said I didn't look further, I meant I had listened to a couple songs and since they didn't really get my interest, I didn't keep listening to stuff of theirs.

It doesn't. Musically, lyrically, just in general, Yearning is THE best death/doom band period. You should check out either Frore Meadow or Merging Into Landscapes next though I recall you saying you liked the song Aureole which is on Evershade so just pick one. You can't go wrong.

Aye, when I first checked them out I got the songs Aureole, Bleak (I think thats a song) and Plaintive Scenes.
Then I got all of Plaintive Scenes. Yearning are definately on my to get list. Once I'm over this phase of bumming Taylor Swift and Lily Allen.

Don't worry, you're not the only one who gets essential albums really late. I mean, I only got Heaven and Hell in April when I should have got it much much sooner than that. Infact, I've ordered some albums which I should have got ages ago including Opeth's My Arms, Your Hearse and Symphony X's V. Oh well, better late than never.
