I think it was Timesplitters: Future Perfect, rather than the original.
I used to mess around the map maker too, fuck that shit was complex!

Yeah, the music in that game fucking ruled.
Here is my fav piece.

Me and a mate are gonna buy TS2 soon and stay at his all night, playing, taking screwdrivers, and blasting metal :) should be awesome.

This video game discussion needs more Doom.

Fuck. That would rule so hard.

So yeah, demo delays. Did 2/3 of the songs vocals, but I need to write lyrics and do vocals for the other song. And mixing might take a day.

But I'm pretty sure you'll all be pleasantly surprised.

Can any Slayer fans recommend me an album that isn't Hell Awaits or Reign in Blood?

Show no Mercy and Seasons in the Abyss are the best ones.
I donĀ“t understand all the hype about Reign in Blood. The only songs that stand out are Angel of Death and Raining blood, but both of those are overplayed to death.

Seriously.

I used to obsessively play Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 all the time.

I would mute the game music and blast Megadeth, countdown to extinction and Youthanasia fit perfectly with those games.

I was playing Ultimate Doom earlier while listening to Amon Amarth, that was damn fun.

I agree, I couldn't imagine playing FFX (which incidently I also absolutely love) without it's amazing soundtrack in the background, unless like you said I'm doing a bit of grinding, then I crank up the tuneage >:p

just been playing TF2 for about an hour, listening to the playlist I created for gaming, it was damn good, Amon Amarth, All That Remains, Disturbed, BMTH (shutup), Five Finger Death Punch etc..

Pretty much Erlend Caspersen is your man, his bass playing is just brilliant and always takes a high seat in his projects.

Some bands he is in:
Blood Red Throne
Emeth
Spawn of Possession
Decrepit Birth
Vile
Deeds of Flesh

I know you guys aren't really into core stuff, but I bought Overcome by All That Remains at last, I love this band and was expecting this album to be shite compared to The Fall Of Ideals, but it's actually pretty bloody good imo, me likey.

also I bought Swan Songs by Hollywood Undead, BAM! how's that for musical diversity >:)

I think I'll ask my mate if he can burn a bunch of Metallica albums to disc for me, as he has like..all of them.

Finished the new demo :D

Here's a song from it.

I'm not going to lie, that's totally the best one on the demo. The songs were all written last year anyway. So I'm looking forward to my next one, It's going to be a big improvement.

I've got two other bands to play in though, but I'm sure I'll find time to make another solo thing.

Personally, unless you're not playing the PC version, I'm happy enough with the in-game music. After all, several tracks in the two games were heavily inspired by heavy metal music. :) Doom 3, however, I heard there's none of that, which partly kills my interest in getting the game sometime. Despite that, I'll have a look at it someday and see if I'll like it or not.

You will get tired of it pretty soon... This Darkened Heart and The Fall Of Ideals are just... better...
the drums and guitars have been recorded with a very strange sound... on Overcome
and the vocals sound no way like Phil's vocals...

And there is also no outstanding songs on the album. They are all pretty much ok... but nothing special compared to anything found on the two previous records.

I doubt it, I really like all their albums, they all sound so different which is great, well apart from TDH and BSAS, they sound kinda similar to me.

I actually really like how his voice sounds in Overcome, don't get me wrong I love his screams on TFOI, but this is good too, he doesn't use clean vocals all the time which is good methinks.

I'm really liking Before the Damned, Two Weeks, Chiron and Undone so far :p

I dig it. All I have to say is make the clean vocals a little lower in the mix, and maybe make them sound more operatic or something. The acoustic bit two minutes 'til the end is also really cool, good job. I'm impressed.

Em... maybe you should give these two albums a little more plays... cause there is nothing more different then TDH and BSAS...
In fact... if I had to rank their albums from best to worst it would look something like this...
This Darkened Heart
The Fall Of Ideals
Overcome
Behind Silence And Solitude.

I actually really like how his voice sounds in Overcome, don't get me wrong I love his screams on TFOI, but this is good too, he doesn't use clean vocals all the time which is good methinks.

The problem with the vocals on Overcome is that they do not sound like Phil's vocals... they have been modified...
and that's the problem of all the whole album... each instruments... drum, bass, guitars and vocs have been mixed a remixed very strangly... and it just doesn't sound "real" enough to me...
the production of Overcome is too "fake"
I don't know if you understand what I mean.

I'm really liking Before the Damned, Two Weeks, Chiron and Undone so far :p

I'll never say that it's a bad album cause it would just be a lie. But I was really expecting a lot more from it then this. Maybe something a little less commercial than The Fall Of Ideals, but not the actual results. Maybe I'm just missing the TDH years.

And also, all my friends who are interrested in All That Remains said the album was kind of dissapointing.

Thanks for the comments though, I'll keep listening to see if I really like it as much as their previous albums.

Keep me informed :P
