Viking was a disappointing game.

And I've never been into RTS games. I used to play a bit of Diablo, Warcraft, Baldur's Gate, Heroes of Might and Magic, and Blood and Magic on an old friend's computer when I was a kid. I hardly ever got anything done in any of those games.

I always thought Death and Slayer complimented Gears 1 & 2 perfectly.

The ones you mentioned are great and there are quite a few other great ones that came out in the nineties and early 00's.
