Note that I left that one off of my list. It was for a reason.
It not good?

TakeNoPrisoners may disagree, but I really love Fallout 3. Especially since most of the bugs have been tweaked or fixed by this point in time, and that the game (with the three DLC that are out now and the two others coming within the next few months) is fairly long and engaging. This is coming from someone who played the death out of the first two Fallouts (I was never a Diablo guy, I played Fallout and Starcraft).

Here I am, bored with everything.

I have to ask, what in your opinion was the best thing about the first two? I loved the dialogue, I loved the fact that most missions had several different ways to complete them and that you could very easily miss out on some of them if you weren't absolutely immersed. I loved that playing it with different stats could change things considerably and make the game different for everyone who played it.

I'm not like majority of the NMA community though. I didn't expect all these things to be just as they were in the old games so it's not that I'm bitter about change. I would have welcomed change as long as I enjoyed it but I felt that not only did they neglect to include anything I had found to be good about Fallout and Fallout 2 but the game is also marred with the same shit that made me dislike Oblivion. Bad animation, bad dialogue, bad plot. I'd like to think that if it those problems cropped up in any game people would at the very least be able to admit those faults but for some reason everyone seems to see straight past them.

On the topic of Metal games, all of you should go buy/play Team Fortress 2. Free weekend, plus its half-price ($10 american i think...that'd be about $15 AUD), and its awesome. Metal as fuck because i said so.

And SKOM is a hilarious movie.

Response to Metal Hell 2009-05-24 05:58:06

Well, I'm interested in what Varg will do, now that he is released. Will we really see an album? I've never been a big Burzum fan, but I'd still like to hear sme new material, just out of curiousity.

Also, did any of you guys listen to the newe Beherit album "Engram" ? I might be a little late on this, but it was surprisingly good - not mindblowing, yet an entertaining listen.

Oh, and Diablo II and Dungeon Keeper rule the hell out of most PC games. I haven't played any games in ages, but those two I should probably try again.

I was playing today actually :D

Pyro is so fun, rushing in and annihilating noobs. Got like 10 achievements in 30mins of playing.

I have TF2 on another Steam account I got from a friend but never bother switching to play.

I'm enjoying Saxon's Denim and Leather. So far, my favourite tracks so far are Princess of the Night and And the Bands Played On.

Oh yes, this is one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time. Anyone who has yet to get TF2 should look into it very soon. If anyone does have the game already on Steam, I'd like to know what your names are on there. :)

Response to Metal Hell 2009-05-24 09:32:19

Denim and Leather is the only consistent album that Saxon made. If they had more albums like that they would have probably made it bigger.

I loved the fact that there was an insane amount of replayability. You can master certain groups of weapons and ignore others. The animation was amazing for the late 90s and it was witty and full of great pop culture references that kept me laughing all the way through. I love the isometric view and the storyline is engaging. I think the same thing applies to Fallout 3, albeit a bit different. I really did like what Bethesda did with Fallout and what they did with Oblivion.

I had no idea there was a TF2 free weekend on, this is why Steam is pretty fucking awesome sometimes.
Played it for about an hour earlier, and it's insanely fun, faaaar better than the console versions.

I just bought it, only 7 quid, fuck yea.

TF2 + TBDM = Aural and Visual-gasm.

I love metal like crackheads love anal. and crack.

Response to Metal Hell 2009-05-24 16:39:06

I started playing Fallout 2 but couldn't get the hang of it, so I never got past the first few seconds of that game.
Oblivion is sweet however.

And Age of Empires 2 bums all your PC games to death :).

Has anyone here listened to both Bathos and Tohcoth by Aarni? I'm really not liking Tohcoth and it's disappointing because Bathos was excellent. I don't see how they could have fallen so far.

I have finally checked out Woods Of Ypres and Wolves In The Throne Room, and both are amazing. I am very happy with what I found.

I also bought my new iPod
it's a black Classic iPod, 120GB

It's working great, and now I just feel like I got to discover more bands to fill all this beautiful space on the hard disk :)

I've listened to Bathos, but only all the way through twice. I'm not a huge fan of Aarni. It's not my thing, despite it being doom and whatnot.

Same. I listen to it, recognize it as being good, but something about it doesn't stick with me. Nothing makes me want to listen to it again.

I already have the Orange Box and I plan on getting Gold for a month to try it out. Right now, I'm too into fallout and it would be a waste of 8 bucks to get Gold, but I'll get it eventually. I already have Silver and I beat Operation Anchorage and the Pitt. I'm in the middle of downloading Broken Steel right now, hoping it doesn't give the game bugs that totally fuck it up.

agreed. I haven't heard Omnimantia yet, though. I'm hoping it's better than Tohcoth. Have you heard Duumipeikon Paluu? That one was good, too. And I haven't heard Umbra Nihil's latest album, but Gnoia and Enough, or Too Much were both good.

VITRIOL was basically the jumpoff that made me love the album. I had kind of turned my nose up at it up until then but once it sucked me in I was hooked. Thunder Perfect Mindfuck too I think is really great. The entire second half of the album really made me enjoy the first half as well even though it's not as strong by comparison. They aren't as weird as their image and reputation makes them seem but I love that album.

Apology accepted. You know as well as anyone here that talking about one subject with the same group of people ad nauseam is about as boring as it gets. We need these digressions from metal, or else we'll get tired of talking about metal.

Age of Mythology was amazing. I still play it actually. I love the integrated mythology (that doesn't always work, but it's interesting nonetheless). They did make an expansion pack, called Age of Titans or something, where they added a new civilization, the Atlantians, and every God has a monster called a Titan which is equivalent to a giant fucking machine of death, destruction, and defecation that kills everything in its path except when it fights another Titan. Totally badass.
