So the Opeth concert was last night. Best fuckin concert I've ever seen in my life ever. They played for about two hours. Enslaved played before them, but since black metal isn't my thing, they were neh. But Opeth was FUCKING AMAZING. They played;
Heir Apparent, Ghost of Perdition, Karma, Wreath, Hessian Peel, The Lotus Eater, The Night and the Silent Water, Closure, Godhead's Lament, and the first verse of Harvest.

not in that order

So i know we're talking on the right level, this is Doomsword, right?

If so, this is excellent, and its hilarious because they're Italian. Saying that, of course it's going to be good, i mean, look at Rhapsody, Solitude Aeturnus, and to a lesser extent, Lacuna Coil(bastards are from the OOOH IM SO RICH AND SHIT Milan). Im putting their album on my 'To buy' list.

I love Harvest, but due to associating it with things that make me very unhappy I can't enjoy it anymore.

Considering I'm a huge stoner fan, I find it kinda sad that I only own Dopethrone.

I'll get around to getting some more, but in other news, Mastodon was featured on the Late Show with David Letterman last night. He was scared of them, honestly because of the whole beards and piercings thing.

So the new Augury song is pretty aweosme.

New album is gonna be savage.

This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.

it's not exactly their fault that the vocalist was stuck at customs. i think your anger is misplaced.

In terms of favourite Wizard song, Behemoth! Also, my version of Dopethrone is 10 minutes, isn't it supposed to be 20 or something? This pisses me off.

Yeah, but 10 minutes of it is silence. At the end is a minute or so long clip from some movie or radio broadcast about signs that your child is a satanist, which includes stuff like "satanic symbols, pentagrams, the devil's mark, and heavy metal." It sounds like it's from the same thing as the quote at the beginning of Vinum Sabbathi (which is the perfect use of a sound clip by the way)

The version where its ten minutes should also have Mind Transferral on too.

Bingo.

Well you have more albums than me then. I only have self titled, CMF, Dopethrone and Withcult Today.

Same. I've never listened to S/T and CMF all that much. Or Dopethrone really, I tend to listen to it when walking around and never end up getting past Weird Tales.

*cue heaviness riff ever!*

Doom bands all seem to use samples well. Whether they're all genius' or it fits with the music I dunno, but there is so many examples. Dystopia's 'Diary of a Battered Child' is without a doubt the most br00tal use of The Breakfast Club.... ever!

S/T is fabulous from start to finish. CMF I havn't given heaps of listening but last time I did I thought it was awesome. And yeah, the first half of Dopethrone gets a lot more listening from me then the latter half.
