Dream Theater are such squares. Electric Wizard are fucking brilliant. DT make incredible music with their virtuosic skill, but fuck. If I had to choose who to hang out with, EW all the way. And if I had to choose who to watch, EW all the way.

Dopesmoker is fabulous, but an entirely different entity to the Wizard, so I don't know why you compared it unless that was your only stoner doom experience. Yeah, they're my only stoner doom experiences so far. Also, I compared the two as I said ages ago I didn't enjoy Dopesmoker and Idio told me to check out Electric Wizard sometime.

Me and the guitarist in my band (or ex-band - had to quit as I'm going home for summer, he said I can rejoin in September though) were discussing its rise in popularity recently and he was saying how fast stuff has been done and its gotten as fast as it can. So its time to go to the opposite end and slow it down :).

And there is so much diversity in Doom there will be something you could get into to, I'm sure.

So yesterday I went to a local band show. It was pretty fun Only one band fucking sucked. There drummer looked like moe from the three stooges. But the last band had one of the guitar synthinizers that make the sound scream. I don't know how to describe it. It was like King Diamond stuff almost.

The local man who many call god was there. He brings the big bands into our shitty town. and example of major bands he brought here is Vital Remains.
