PT albums: Deadwing and Sky Moves Sideways are both great.

Yeah. Steven Wilson produced some of Opeth's albums.

I like them.

I know they're not metal, but they're prog rock and affiliated with Opeth

They are?

Well, I'm pretty sure Steve Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt are really good friends, and Steve Wilson has provided backing vocals and piano on some Opeth songs. And he's produced several of their albums.

From Pikiwedia:

The album was also produced by Steven Wilson, who contributed backing vocals and keyboards, and
co-wrote one song, Death Whispered a Lullaby.

I never would've discovered them without that tag on Fear of a Blank Planet. It said, "Porcupine Tree are definitely my favourite band of this time - Mikael Akerfeldt".

And I wasn't even a huge Opeth fan then.

But yeah, I love that album and Deadwing is great too. I am yet to get anything else, I will get In Absentia next though.

Too busy wanking over this Acid King album. It is pure awesome.

Hahahaha, that's classic.

I was hanging out with my friend once and I can't remember if it was me or him, but one of us said "tryyyyy my wiiiife" and I thought that was purty funny....You know, cuz his wife was raped.

That's sick.

And hilarious.

They are?

Steven Wilson, the brilliant amazing man he is, produced and played keyboards on many Opeth albums.

I think that's the funniest part of the movie. Darth Vader in short shorts and a pink tie die shirt lifting weights.

Though there are many insanely awesome moments in that fucking fantastic film.

I went through my old posts earlier today. It was the most depressing and embarrasing thing I've ever done on the internet.

I'm sorry everyone :'(

Ouch I just re-read that then.

I think I already said I was high when I posted that shit, but the kicker is the weed I was smoking was laced with Ketamine and I was well and truly fucked up.

And I was so angry at how ridiculously stupid Duff was sounding and the fact he was stereotyping me as a kvlt black metalhead and he was bragging about how he listens to Ulver and Agalloch when I've been appreciating them for longer than he has, and god. It was horrible. Not a great place to be at.

Anyway, I got Dopesick.

Me likey the sludgey.

Has anyone else noticed that some of the "classic, landmarks in the genre" stoner albums start with the word Dope?

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
Eyehategod - Dopesick
Sleep - Dopesmoker

I need to think of one too for my band :S

Good album, but different. Most people just call it "Með suð" (pronounced meth soothe, with the same "th" as in "then"), or "the new album"

I can never tell how to pronounce things when people use examples like that.

Is it meth like the drug. Or like meef... or something else... merth? :S

Sigur Rós - Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust

btw, Translation for that is
"With our Ears buzzing, We play endlessly"
But more like :
"With a buzz in our ears, We play endlessly"
But that makes no sense in english.

Most people just call it "Með suð"

(pronounced meth soothe, with the same "th" as in "then")

Not Exactly.
Meth Soothe= Með Súð (if you use the Ð which is th in then)
A Normal Icelandic U has no Equivalent in the English language.

I'm listening to a review of Twilight by Mark Kermode (who's fucking hilarious).
And as he's old his knowledge of Goth music is The Cure and stuff. But do emo's actually listen to such good music?

I don't mind AC/DC, but I do agree with them being repetitive. It's the one reason why I'm not eager to getting anymore of their albums. I already have five of their albums and since I have Highway to Hell and Back in Black, I don't find it so necessary to get anything else by then.

These are the ones with Lemmy and are considered their best works.

A relative of mine has mentioned Hawkwind a few times to me and I really should look into them, most especially when Lemmy was in the band. Thanks for suggesting those albums to D3NT as I should look into them as well. :)

So after having 2 Blind Guardian albums that I think either Sensy or Charon recommended me ages ago I've finally clicked with them and enjoy it enough to listen to them thoroughly without getting bored.

Somewhere Far Beyond
Nightfall in Middle-Earth

Or maybe I'm becoming a Powerfag, I've been enjoying Sonata and Rhapsody a fair bit lately.

Narrrr :P

This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.

So I decided I was going to check out some of Danzig's albums, and I must say, I fucking love these. They are so much different from when he was the vocalist for the Misfits. I have nine of his albums on my PC, and I'm only the 5th song of the first album, and I fucking love it.
