I prefer the classic knife over fancy apple gadgets. You don't need a plate, just cut it off in your hand :).

Yeah, some people seem to think that they're sweeter after they've ripened more, but I think they're best when they've just become ripe enough to be edible.

I've got oddly spaced upper teeth because two of them are missing, so I can't bite properly into an apple. I need a head start, so i either gnaw on the outside of the apple for a while, or get someone else to bite it for me.

They're a little sweeter, but I like the texture. It's nice and firm. Brownish bananas are powdery and stringy, bleh.

So what do people here think of Porcupine Tree? I know they're not metal, but they're prog rock and affiliated with Opeth, so I'm guessing at least some people have heard them/listen to them and have opinions.

Well, I'm pretty sure Steve Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt are really good friends, and Steve Wilson has provided backing vocals and piano on some Opeth songs. And he's produced several of their albums.
