No, besides the song Black Star, SoS is the only Carcass I've heard. Its a good album but I wasn't swayed. If I am going to become a Carcass fan then I'll need to give it a few more listens.

So my friend (who doesn't really listen to a lot of metal, ironically) showed me a pretty cool stoner metal band. Red Fang - "Prehistoric Dog"

This is the only song i've listened to by them, but it's pretty good. And if you don't like the song, the video's pretty awesome.

What made the movie for me was Rorschach. He's been my favorite comic book character ever since I first read the book and I had been hoping they wouldn't butcher him. I was still really happy and satisfied in the way that they adapted him even though I could care less about the others because of my dislike for their actors/actresses. Also, in my opinion, Jackie Earle Haley had a great performance as him.

Meeee!

Burst's recent stuff is really quite good and only recently discovered them myself.
They have a Post-Metal/Prog feel to them that really clicks with me.

Alchemist I like, but I rarely sit and listen to it. Nice and abstract Prog Metal.

I've seen it too, it looked pretty cool, and I was bummed out because I already bought Orchid online. Oh well. Anybody like Forest of Shadows?

Personally I'd get the albums seperately so I had the proper CDs/artwork/booklets etc.

I asked someone else for his opinion on the box set and he said I'd be better off getting them separately. Since no-one has suggested me to get the box set instead, I'll be getting those albums separately.

Although this doesn't apply to Opeth here, I really hate it when bands do that when I just bought one of their albums they were about to re-release. It happened to Blind Guardian when I just bought all their studio albums and then they planned to remaster all their albums up to Nightfall. Oh well, at least I got the Helloween re-releases at the right time.

Somehow, this is metal related.

Fantomas, Mike Patton and his great ideas. Enjoy

I'm not fond of re-releases and remastering older material. I got Burnt Offerings remastered and without the oldschool production it sounds just too clean. I can't imagine certain albums remastered... take Abigail for example. That 80's style production lends a lot to the music in my opinion. I could understand Blind Guardian remastering Nightfall and Imaginations but their earlier stuff ... they should just leave that alone.

Its Metal related cause its Metal. The album is full of lullaby-esque toy sounds, weird Patton shrieks and Metal riffs.
Plus Dave Lombardo is the drummer.

Its a great album :).

Just got Forest of Shadows, really good one man band, his clean vocals are really odd and deep, but I love the piano and his death growl. Really beautiful and eerie compositions.

When did Dave Lombardo have short hair?

Maybe he wasn't live, but he was on the album.

I have a query.

Do most of you guys consider Groove Metal real Metal or not?

I do. But I consider it the lowest you can go in terms of genres... in any form of music.

Drunk mood again.

This is true. I love Prong when I'm in the mood. I think Machine Head and Pantera are too overbearing.

My only gripes with Machine Head are that little Nu Metal phase they went through, and that Rob Flynn uses way, way, way too many effects.

Pantera=Meh.
