Some of Kronos's Riffs are amazing.
And other bands too, the riffs are catchy and awesome. They're usually technical an complex on top of that.
Not like Athiest and the likes who are partially experimental but still undeniably technical.

Doing it perfectly.

Not denying that, Gorguts are great.

Doing it wrong.

Darkane aren't Modern Death they are Melodic Death Metal with even traces of Thrash.

Aren't we talking about modern Death Metal specifically. Like thisaka 'Brutal Death Metal'

For some reason, I never got into Seasons in the Abyss. It wasn't a bad album, but I thought I'd like it much more than I do. I like South of Heaven, but maybe all my attention in Slayer songs goes to whatever's in Reign in Blood.

God I wish you didn't care. Fucking get over yourself, you aren't Kvlt, You aren't Old school, You're a fucking egotistical 15 year oldtalentless friendless virgin loser, constantly in denial of how pathetic you are, always trying to fit in with other guys ON THE INTERNET by being all "I get high with my dad yaaaayyy" or "I don't care about anything, yo"

So, I'm off, Fuck off ponos, I'll post maybe when our album comes out.

Also Ponos, I've always been trying to be nice to you, regarding your projects, But you're really just another Unoriginal Ulver rip-off, And you suck at guitar. Also stop trying to Impress goaty with everything you do, constantly worshipping him and all that bullshit, It's got to feel embarrassing for him.

I originally didn't much like this club because of musical elitism. I don't know; it certainly pervades Metal, and other genres too I suppose, but I don't think there's any benefit in pretending that your tastes are the only true metal tastes; there's so much interesting music out there; constructive criticism of artwork might be a good topic of discussion but not just rejecting a lot of music out of hand.

I wonder if you still have the no-Rammstein-discussion policy despite that a lot of your members like Rammstein. It should just be free discussion about music amongst those who consider themselves metalheads, and if someone proposes the topic of discussion 'Necrophagist is like John Coultrane' then anyone who is interested in responding should be allowed to. Or if someone says 'I like Job for a Cowboy' you don't have to flip out at them. I don't even think Metalcore is a big threat any more, looks like the scene died. Just anyone who considers themselves metal can join and maybe you can be metal elitists against all the pansy nu-metallers and metalcore fans rather than elitists about extreme metal.

who cares anyway not even posted here for years, maybe I should reconsider whether I post this but fuck it it's long

thats pretty much what happens. fuck, the majority of the time i'm here i talk about noise rock, psychedelic, folk, pretty much everything exept metal. but yeah, core is still not looked kindly on by most people here. to give a comparison i wouldnt go into a punk club and talk about how much i love the grateful dead, i know i would just get flamed to hell; no matter how unreasonable you might think it is there is still conflict between fans of certain types of music and your not gonna change their opinions any time soon.

the all tomorrows parties festival line up is coming along nicely. theyre asking the sludge band harvey milk to play. i still cant fecking believe that im gonna see electric wizard AND sleep live =D

I just joined and now I don't think I wanna be a part. Or at least I don't wanna be an active member, i don't know, and I don't wanna know what'd happen if I post about the kind of metal that I like.

I mean, seeing somebody constantly oozing an aura of "music elitist twat" instead of seeing everybody participate in humorous, friendly discussion. I don't like it when people try so hard to sound like a dedicated fan, like when they keep trying to prove a retarded point. Like you have a song with poetry, loud instruments and all the traits of a metal song, then some dickweed comes up and says "THAT SHIT AIN'T METAL YO, IT B EAR-RAIPEN SHIZZZ WORD UP BALLA 2PAC LOL RAP IN METAL CLUB" or something. Of course, I'm sure anybody who isn't slow knows what I'm talking about, and I think this already only after a few hours in this hell.

Plus I don't have at least 10 Metal bands in my range of taste, I only have around 5 or 6, and that is out of the 100+ bands that I have. And the ones that I do have, are "mainstream metal" which probably translates to faggotshit to most of you guys.

I'm sorry.

Yeah, I agree. When I got started with metal, I didn't like black or death vocals, but I eventually started to like them. I'm still really picky with death metal, though.

I'd rather get kicked in the balls than see that horrible show.

Speak for yourself.

That concert was AMAZING.

If ANYONE in here enjoys thrash metal OR Melodic death metal IN THE SLIGHTEST(You don't even need to like those bands) you'd go see that concert.

Jesus christ it was great!

From best to least best:

Darkane (Played for 80 minutes) Got to meet the band because I got their so early and they were the ones I went to see the most. Fucking awesome.

Warbringer (Player for 45 minutes) Fucking awesome mosh pit and death wall. Got both the drumer's drum sticks and a guitar pick.

Swallow the sun (Played for 45 minutes) Swallow the Sun played their entire 35 minute song "Plague of butterflys"

Soilwork (Played for 100 minutes) I got their list of songs from the stage, if anyone wants to know what it says i'll tell you.

Concert dates in the future:

Feb 13 Poughkeepsie, NY (TONIGHT!!!)
Feb 14 Allentown, PA
Feb 15 New York, NY
Feb 16 Montreal, Canada
Feb 17 Toronto, Canada
Feb 18 Pittsburgh, PA
Feb 19 Cleveland, OH
Feb 20 East Saint Louis, IL

If it is near you, I highly recommend you see it. If not for the music then for the mosh pits and death wall.

Double post.

I just finished reading up to date.

I got to say... I like, EVERYONE else in this club, agrees with Kidd.

Their is only one member in this club I truly dislike and he never posts so it rarely becomes a problem.

But your constant stream of bullshit, pointless hate for Duff(Even if he is seriously dumb) and the fact you say bands like Sabbath are great and basically all other metal is utter shit. plus swearing online makes you seem sooooooooo mature.

My point is it keeps getting harder and harder to wade through your bullshit and reply to people that are actually coherent, comprehensible, that are having a conversation I can contribute to and that AREN'T completely retarded..

My 2 cents.

Basically what I and what I think everyone else is trying to say is: Either play nice, open your mind to new music, stop bashing Duff and stop double, triple, etc. posting and posting longass posts OR get the fuck out.

Your choice.

An attempt at Black Metal.

Which would have been more successful was it not that the main riff seems hauntingly familiar, and makes me wonder if I stole it unintentionally.

It does sound familiar, like allot of new wanabe old black metal songs. Not to bad though. I am working on a black metal song, I'm probably gunna have to take original mayhem tabs though - change them around a bit, because I can't get anything that sounds mildly dark.
